Not quite true: up till now we have always held them in Nottingham, because Emmap lives there and she organises them! (And what a great job she does, too).

There is no reason whatsoever why you can't organise something for Birmingham sometime. I havent been out there in ages, and it would be good to sample the Brum nightlife again (and, of course I could find the old Spitfire factory at Castle Bromwich). So how about it, Seany88. Can you recommend a date/good cheap food/pub/club/hotel in Birmingham?

had to read that twice, thought you said good cheap date! As for a good place to eat and go out, i'm not too sure myself as i've just moved back to the area after 4 years of study in Manchester!

Wouldn't have a clue of the general sort of taste you lot prefer? Cheesy music, £1 a pint good for you?

Ooh! Ya bugger! 'Tis true. I have offered a mighty fine B&B for some PHer's it has to be said, so I am not entirely selfish, honest Guv! We did ponder a night out in Derby or Leicester some time back, but it was decided that we would stick with Nottingham.

I hear Nottingham is a good place to go out anyway, mainly because of the male:female ratio

Maybe in the future it'd be an idea to vary it a bit and try different towns as I know i'd like to see what its like elsewhere. Not trying to shake things up mind you...

What say we just meet up in town in a bar, have a drink or three, go and get a pre-booked curry or whatever, then another bar and drink some more.

Go halves on the hotel rooms if sharing.

ie, the usual.

cheap, cheerfull, does exactly what it says on the tin.

:flings hat in ring:

I was just saying, "Corr! I dunno! BG cannot do August, J_S_G cannot do July and I thought Tom could do July, but it appears now to be just August."

Soooooo...

What shall we do eh? Pete and Tracy may not be able to do 22nd July. I want to keep August relatively free to go down the smoke... Shall we say 29th July or, "Stuff it!" and go for September, after BG's hols and J_S_G's Eurohoon?

I concur. It's our only option guys. We face massive organisational failure if we do not take this action immediately.

Can't do September sorry, it has a PT in the month, and I have an aversion to Austin A35 vans on steroids.

why dont we do one in July for those who can, and one in september for those who (also) can? Then we can do two locations. Its such a lovely summer, it seems a shame to wait until the end of it before we all meet again

That sounds like a frighteningly logical suggestion, the only downside being the speed at which July is disappearing.

Take care williamp. 'They' are not really to keen on free and logical thinkers and may be monitoring this web site. If you see black helicopters - take cover.

Need to move fast then, it's either this Saturday (which I cant do) or the next. There is the Lincoln Hoon on the 29th too, so we could make a day of it, go on that, then return to Notts for a curry, and 'Cars' is released at the flicks too, could eat, then take in a late showing.

Sounds like a plan.

Red Hot Buffet Shack was good last Saturday, although the curry was a lttle bit disappointing (not enough veg). So, 4510 odd Miles from Delhi or buffet?
