remind me, what is the Shardlow thing all about? Is it a PH do or summat else? Is it the same night as the next starkholmes, and if so where are people going?
Hi Mike, Shardlow is a classic car meet but last month some of the Starkhomes lot went there instead. See the photos here www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=285495&f=113&h=0
I won't go to Shardlow again. It was ok but imo the cars were just run of the mill relics from the past. Maybe I just don't appreciate this stuff. Ok, I saw a jaguar and some De Loreans but I also saw a lot of, well, old cars. I'd much prefer to see fast cars or exotic cars, not somebody's concours moggie minor.

I can only apologise for my ignorance of classic/older cars I used to go to to Shardlow on a regular basis when there were ferraris and all sorts of racey stuff, back in the good old days

That'll be Jim, he has the 350Z and also a nippy Saxo VTS.
(I still have the oil-powered CRV Warren, it's doing good.)

What colour was your Clio 182 when you had it? What did you reckon to them?
Black metallic. It had the 'Cup' kit and spoiler option, too.
TBH, although i liked the car very much it was a strange mix.
The engine was great, a simple and high-revving hot hatch motor in a lightweight car. The handling and brakes were good, too. What i din't really understand was why Renault felt the need to raise the price and/or reduce their profits by fitting automatic lights, automatic wipers, climate control, Xenon lights and all the other luxuries. Normal air con would have been fine and the other stuff is nice but makes the car heavier and more expensive.
£1000 cheaper and it would have been the bargain of the year.
As it was, it was still amazing value (i got mine new in Sept. 04 for £13,000 otr with the 2 said kit options and metallic paint).
Very good car.

Polarbert, if i could find out how to use the URL method of posting my photobucket pictures, i would post a piccy of the 182.
Its dead easy mate, just go to your photobucket page and there should be 3 web addresses underneath. Copy the very last one which should look something like this (only without the space at the end) come back over the PH and paste it and bob should be your uncle.
