Anyone going, or shall we give the Oakerthorpe pub a try?

Warren, (a while ago), made a suggestion that we look at the choice of venue.

To be honest the current one is a bit out of the way, a lot of the local road surfaces are pretty awful, especially for the lower/harder riding cars, the car park is small and oddly shaped, etc etc.
I just mentioned that the Anchor at Oakerthorpe is only a few miles away, it has better road access for just about everyone, the car park is nice and big and the roads around there are smoother.
It's a good pub too. Just a thought.

The road isn't that bad. The deciding factor for me though is is there a local chippy and how good are their fish and chips?

Suggest we move the meet to the carpark at the back on the petrol station on the A6 in Belper then - right next to George's chippy.

I think we should give the Anchor a go.

Worth a try for a week, and if it isn't as good then we can go back to the Lion.

Starkholmes isn't a place, it's a place to meet people.

Sep 3 also!

ok ill do you a deal, you come to ours, we will come to both, we have a midlands PH karting event in twin engined super fast go karts on europes best (1.2km) official go kart championship circuit.

there is currently 16 karts taken (yes i admit that will do) but the trak is so big it can take 20 karts.

its on the 18th (next friday) and would be good to have a full house, its a 100 lap endurance race and everyone is split into teams.

theres no need to worry the track in just of the A1 near newark, hardly a huge journey for any of you. see other thread in the PH midlands regarding karting.

ill try and get a few of the guys to come to this meet if you arrange a few of yours (and girls) to come to ours

deal?

If people are happy then this Tuesdays (15th August) Starkholmes meet will be held at The Anchor at Oakerthorpe (near Alfreton).

If it's rubbish we can all throw chips at Beemer-5.
