Nice pics, but I'm afraid many of them reinforce my view that the Organisers should not let euroboxes onto the main field. The range of interesting machinery forced into the second and third field is, in my view, almost criminal; given some of the mundanity of cars allowed onto the main field, purely because they got there early.
I, for one, am starting to question whether I want to bother going in either of our "toy" cars, and may start going on the bike instead, if indeed I go again for a while. Papplewick is better for me, at least owners of euroboxes park away from the more interesting stuff.
I'm sorry if this sounds like a moaning bigot, but I think Ashby is in danger of becoming swamped (you only have to look at the traffic at 6.30-7pm), and I feel that some segregation has to be effected, or people with more interesting vehicles may start to stay away, which would be a shame.

i agree with all said, but they are still a little picky as i followed supaspark in my smart car and they wouldn't let me in, although they let in some other european ca*p!!! at least mine is rear-wheel drive which does in my book constitute a sports car! that said i am poor and young and have lots to learn!

My M100 Lotus is FWD and will kick the 4ss of many other cars so watch what you say matey!
Still I do agree that the Plain Jaynes should be kept out of the privilidged parking areas. Anything sporty or of interest should be put together to constitute the show.
They also need better facilities for beer, food and toilets.

IMO, the first come first served system at the minute works well. That said, rep mobiles and really bog standard stuff (Mondeo's, 406's etc) shouldn't be allowed in regardless.
I agree about the facilities, but it is an unoffical event. With better facilities comes higher fees, £1 for the main field is fine IMO - increase this and you start to hurt attendance figures.

I agree - it could potentially start making it a tough job for the guys on the gate to decide who's "special" enough. Didn't the meet start off as a vintage/classic car meet, which probably means that the vast majority of us aren't really 'special' enough.
It's a difficult one, as the last meet I went to back in July was quite different to the meets last year where the majority of the vehicles in the cricket field were really interesting. I didn't go in August for that reason.
Not that fussed about the facilites to be honest, like you say, its an unofficial event - which imho is better not getting any bigger than it is so I'm quite happy if the queue for the loo or the bar puts some people off !!
I hope the meet doesn't become a victim of its own success
