Well, ordinarily I would be there, but a certain 27 litre V12 Rolls Royce engined Rover SD1 is going to be at the Ashby Folville meet, so i'm going to see that instead.

I'll be at Ashby Folville on Tuesday - it may be the last chance this year of a good turn out down there - weather is looking ok too.

Looks like we'll be giving Oakerthorpe a miss then?

I'm in Manchester Tuesday - depends what time I get back to Stafford and how knackered I am - so I'm a "maybe" this time...

I'm supposed to be meeting up with your mate with the 350Z as I have a bluetooth module he wants for the car. Will you and he be there on Tuesday? I'm up to my eyeballs in DIY hell at the moment so don't have time to get to Ashby to see the Merlin-engined Rover but Oakerthorpe is just up the road from me so I can take an hour to pop up and say hi and do the exchange.

We got 8 people, so not bad considering what was on elsewhere.

Jim and i heard some serious rpm in the near distance, just after 7pm and i rightly predicted that it meant the imminent arrival of Judas in the S2000.
9,000 revs does sound good!

The 2 MK 1 Escorts were nice, standard looking but with 300+ bhp of Cosworth power.
Do come next time guys, so i can take some snaps!

I was indeed a man on a mission! Sorry I had to run, but this floor won't lay itself irked Just knocked of from DIYing now - some bloody holiday this has turned out to be

We had a new visitor too, he came with the Escort MK1 guys.
This time he turned up in a rather unique VW Camper, it was one (of only 110 made) with 3.8 litres of flat-6 engine!
But he also has a 452bhp Subaru 2.5 litre which by specs. alone sounds like a lot of fun!

Interestingly, on my arrival on Tuesday, the governor of the pub asked for a word, then told me how the Starkholmes management had been down to the pub to see 'what they were doing wrong', or words to that effect. He said it was a little strange when they said who they were!
