If you have that much money get out on the track and put them to good use!

pdd, surely it's up to the owner when and how he uses his cars FFS.

I really don't see the point of using a car like that just on the road. Its not like it can be used to its full potential on the road is it?!

Thats a bit like saying "I dont see the point of having a £100 watch when you can get one for £5 in Argos".

Perhaps the potential of a Ferrari isnt all about going fast? Part of their appeal is the looks, the noise and the badge. Would you rather say to people at a dinner party that you have a Ferrari or a Pugeot/Citroen/Hyundai for the weekends?

Surely that depends on the individual. A lot of people seem to own these type of cars purely for the image rather than anything else though. A waste in my opinion, although I'm sure I will be told differently. I personally drive a shitty diesel Fiesta round on the roads and use the money I save for my race cars. I'd rather be out racing at the weekend than bragging about my Ferrari! I see my cars as tools for a job, perhaps differently than other people.

Horses for courses pal.

Some people are happy driving around in a shed every day of the week in order to save money for other things. Its cool you dig motorsport.

Personally, I prefer something that can put a smile on my face any day of the week, not just when the track is open. And that I can also take the family out in if needed.

If you've got balls, and friends with fast motors, the fun doesnt have to be limited to the track...

Come join the fun.

Oh, and bring one of your quick cars biglaugh byebye

Then get a Mini diesel. They are well made, do 110 mph and let's face it, the limit is only 70.

205 isn't really road legal now, and 500lb/ft springs and silly FWD BHP doesn't like the road... Be happy to join everyone on a track day though. If you have the balls that is biglaugh

Oooooohhhhh got so many friends with these silly little pegeot things it's unreal, sorry pd hate to say it mate they are all skint and can't afford a real car either!
I was doing track days when you where in nappy's mate and with a much more powerfull car, then it became boring so i thought i either take this up for a living or enjoy the beautiful roads of the world.
You'll probably find it tough but "save" and try a gumball or cannonball then tell me you prefer track days..............................

Nah.
If i was going to spend any serious amount of time on the track i would get myself a car designed for it from the start.
I would want something which weighed circa 400 kgs too.
Converted road cars and especially stock road cars are always a compromise, even something like a Caterham is horribly compromised compared to a proper racing car.
Aside from that i am happy with a couple of trips to the Nurburgring per year and a rare track day here somewhere.
My car insurance and warranty are both invalid for the track so it would be idiotic to take it racing regularly.
If i had endless amounts of accessible money it might be different.
