Evening all,

I know this is outstandingly cheeky, but I'm in a bit of a pickle! (to say the least)..

Phoned the family friend that was going to be providing transport for the good lady on our wedding day (24/02) to confirm that all is well for the day, it's come to light that all isn't alright for the day as there are parts of the classic all over the county ..

He has a friend that could offer his services, but only if it isn't raining! Now I'm sure you can appreciate that we can't rely on a wedding car that won't turn up if it's raining!

PH'ers, I need your help, I need to get the good lady from Evesham to Bretforton (about a 5 mile journey, if that) and potentially a return trip to pick up the good lady's mother.. Can anyone assist with a suitably spacious vehicle? (it needs to be spacious, as, if rumours are to believed, her wedding dress has a bussle rolleyes )

Thanks folks..

Should be interesting if we pull it off! We'll be racing in Pro-ET again, just slightly quicker If all goes to plan!

More pressing at the mo tho is getting the good lady to the wedding!! The race transit just won't do!

Ooo! Shame it's the 24th as I'm off snowboarding that day - would have nipped up in the Cerbera.

Rover P5 Coupe is off the road with head gasket failure but I'm working on it.

If I can get it done in time, and you're still desparate consider me a maybe.

Sorry can't be more help.

You might have to supply the ribbons though!

Cheers for the offer chap, 2 questions I guess, do you think it'll be ready in time (this is next weekend we're talking about) and do you mind coming all the way to Evesham?

Don't worry if you can't commit, I completely understand, I'm very grateful for the kind offer you've made..

I've ordered the gaskets so hopefully get it done over the weekend or early next week.

My best advice would be to try and make other plans but if its up and running and you've no alternative then I'll do my best to be there. It's about 75 miles each way so no huge haul in a healthy P5.

PM me with the times and a postcode.

Sorry Slinks - bustles, veils and big white frocks and TVRs are an unhappy mix.

Best wishes and I hope you find a suitable car - wish I'd kept the Alvis now cry
