Chap down my road who likes to do a bit of off-roading in his Aventador - Can't help but laugh every time I hear it bumbling down the narrow road! biggrin
That's the one I saw (2posts above) in Stratford on Saturday...

Remember the plate.
It's Sone's - The X-Bow belonged to him as well (although he sold it to an asparagus picker from Evesham last week).

Make the most of it...... he's already eying up a replacement

p.s - sorry I couldn't make it for beers on Friday.

Sorry pal I was to busy arguing the aesthetic merits of the Aventador with the misses.

She doesn't get cars. I should really trade her in. wink

The low seating position and lack of doors make for quick picking of crops

You've had some interesting gear, like to know how you feel the X bow compares to stuff like the 2-eleven or Elise or especially the R300

Not really had much time to fully explore limits of the car, but vs the 2-11, Atom and R300 it feels a lot more solid, almost production car like. The others feel a bit more skittish on the road.

Before the XBOW I would say :-
- the 2-11 is the car for the perfectionist driver, that rewards those who drive smoothly and precisely .
- the Atom is for the hooligan
- the Caterham is for the driver who wants the ultimate feedback ..the easiest to drive on the limit....I've had 2 and will have another at some point.

Be interesting to see where the XBOW slots in vs the rest. It certainly draws a lot of attention (positive so far). Definitely a marmite car in terms of looks , but no denying the quality of design and build.

Time will tell.

(Update) - Just looked at your garage Bertie...WOW, some nice cars there and notice you have a R400 smile. A man with good taste.

So in specific comparison to to Caterhams, the Atom 3 245bhp is similar in acceleration to a R500. However it's hard to get heat in the front tyres, so you don't get the same level of front end grip as the Caterham. A bit harder to catch the back when it goes too. Build quality is higher on the Atom.

The 2-11 felt a lot more precise in terms of its ride, steering and especially the brakes which are phenomenal. I see you have an Elise, so just imagine that cranked up to 11 and add a supercharger wink

From the limited time with the XBOW its a competely different beast to the Caterham. A lot heavier, but also more solidly built. Nowhere near as nimble as a Caterham, but it does feel more solid on the road.

All completely impractical cars ........ which is why we love em smile

Spotted a brand new Leon Cupra 280 in white today coming off the M54, looked really cool I must say - first one I've seen on the road I believe.

I spotted this in Chilwell the other day and it caught my eye as I had no clue what it was. Unfortunately another car rolled into shot and ruined my photo. It turns out it's one of these: http://www.aixam.com/en/. The current line up comes with a whopping 5.4hp and 14Nm!

I'm I often see a lovely B7 Audi RS4 in/around Chesterfield. You can't help but notice it because it has a lovely aftermarket exhaust. I had the pleasure of being behind it earlier and the windows were down so that I could hear all the crackles and pops that accompanied the exhaust note. The registration is; RS04OMG.

Anyone on here?

Saw you at Shelsley this morning - bracing drive over I assume?

Sone - were you there in your Aventador, one of that colour was there, but I didn't think to look at the number plate - can't be that many in the Midlands
