Strange one this morning, at junction 6 of the M5, it came from the Crowle direction (with me behind it), and joined the M5 northbound carrageway (still with me behind it).
Fire engine red BMW E60 5 series, YL08 NPG , but it was only badged as a 520d, and wasn't driven in a manner you'd expect from a Police officer.
It has led lights inside the rear window, sitting up from the parcel shelf, but I've no idea what colour they would light up, it was two up, and driven in a very brash typical beemer manner, rather than normal "police" style.

That's because it wasn't a Police Officer. Definitely not one of ours!It could be a fire officers car ( I only say that because trumpton seem to like red), a doctors car, or even just some pikey that works on the roads, or perhaps even a posh mechanic !
It had lights just inside the rear window, but they were clear leds, so I've no idea what colour they would light up.
I keep slowing down for beige E60's on the M5, and so far .... they haven't been you lot, there are far too many of those beige ones.
He followed me for a mile or two, then followed me into the pub car park and drove round the opposite side of the car park and headed off again at speed. I'm not sure if I was saved by another call, but I doubt it as I saw him again a few minutes later coming back down past the river.

That will be the one that got me a while ago. It appears to be an ARV (friend of mine has spyed it in the car park at Mansfield nic) usually run by one or two guys dressed as special forces. Quite sneaky, when it got me was suprised how scruffy and normal it looked.
Aye, it is. There's three or four knocking about. Not as friendly as us section lads...I was just about to pull you the other day going down from Hilltop but you got saved by the control room calling me to a job just as you turned off It was me behind you.
One of these days i'll get my nosey!
This one has me puzzled, Derby this morning, Frank Whittle Way and the A52.

The front headlights were flashing alternately in a strobe effect, but no coloured lights at all, nor was there a siren. The headlights were being used to clear traffic and make progress. But it didn't look at all genuine to me. The driver and the the passenger were an ordinary looking older man & woman, wearing ordinary beige casual clothes. The car had none of the other clues that could identify an unmarked car, not that I could see anyway. When the car got into heavier traffic though, the driver then eased off and started to let other traffic out first, that sort of thing, which was at odds with earlier using the lights to make progress.
Genuine, or Joe Public impersonating?
