Had a similar experience in the same place a year or so ago. I was queuing on the A435 for the M42 junction in the rush hour when a Subaru Legacy Estate parted the queuing traffic with full blues and twos and headed off at speed. I reported it on here and also got a "not one of ours" response.

Frankly it would be odd for UK police to use Legacys but the Italian policy do use them. I know it was a Legacy because it was the same model as mine.

Why would it be odd for police to use Legacys? Hants police have at least one of them.

It's nowt super special On an LD and not F* plate as it's an ex-demo they loved so much they brought it. I think (apart from the obviously secret one's that'd never be discussed in public) it's the only exception to the F* numberplate rule. The only other one I can think of was a silver ST220 estate but that's long dead now.
