Nice places to live, near Kidderminster?

Both Brosmgrove and Droitwich cover large areas that have both rural and reasonably built-up areas, so unless you narrow your search down to a specific area of either you won't get much of a meaningful reply.
As a Droitwich resident (originally from Kent) I like most of the place - there are nice and not so nice areas - but for either I would suggest checking the Ofsted reports of the areas in catchment for the potential areas you are looking at. We have been pleased with the way our three children have been taught at the various schools they have attended (one at Middle and two at High School, so a bit further down the line from you. One had special educational needs at pre and primary school, but is now top stream at High School and has worked damn hard to get to where he is) but we know of some parents who are dissatisfied with the schooling their sprogs are receiving.

I live in Bewdley behind the safari park. Would be pleased to drive you about my local area and show what I know. Most parts of Stourport are at the mercy of the local gypos, driving about annoying everybody collecting scrap/eyeing up your shiney motorbike to come back for later at night. Spend a summers sunday afternoon in each town and theres worlds of difference.
Lived in Bewdley all my life, went to school here, work near by etc.. Never had our house broken into, had one car stereo nicked about 5 years ago, schools were half decent, only noisy thing in our street is my car.

I reiterate my earlier post when I said look West towards Cleobury Mortimer, Tenbury Wells and even possibly Ludlow.
The aim is to escape the onslaught of plebs that are abundant in any larger town. Generally the more remote and rural it is, the better you'll do in this respect. They just don't *do* country living.
We have travelled around the area a little now.
Cleobury, Bridgnorth and Tenbury are all nice, but just a little bit further than I wish to commute unfortunately. They are not 'off the radar' just yet though. Good (ie sensible) house prices in Tenbury. Trouble is though if I ever end up working back in Birmingham it would be a heck of a commute, whereas the towns just off M5 would be fine.
Bewdley side of Kidderminster (Blakebrook, Habberley Rd, Bewdley Hill) and Bewdley itself seem nice.
Droitwich is a nice short commute (where I will be working is just south of Kidderminster on the A449) and a guy I currently work with lives there, he says it is like anywhere, good and bad parts. I haven't visited Droitwich yet.

Girl at work in finance happens to live in Stourport, she moved out of Worcester to live there. Says it is fine and seems to have no trouble in four years of living there. I mentioned 'The Walshes' and she says she doesn't live far from that estate.
Have a good mate in Evesham. Almost worth living there for a beer pal, but again it is a 45 minute commute and I really want a 'less than 12 miles/20 mins' commute (partly so I can run a V8 and not care about petrol costs!)

My OH works in Birmingham, and we live in Bewdley. Each day she commutes there and back. Most days it's an hour, some days (school hol's) it's much quicker due to less traffic (45mins). Some days she's taken 2 hours if there's an accident. I still think she'd say that overall it's worth the drive to get back home away from the city. I only pass through that bit; I live on an estate off the Hanbury Road north of Tagwell, whilst The Outlaws live just to the south of your target area.
Nice area. It is established, so what you see is what you will get - no real opportunitiues for further developments other than one-off builds.
School-wise you are looking at St Peter's First School, which currently has a pretty good reputation. Although St Peter's was also our catchment, we sent our children to Chawson First School as we felt they were a more flexible school for our son with SEN, so no direct experience. Witton Middle School is an excellent school (son three still there) and the two elder ones are doing well (and enjoying) Droitwich High.
Corbett St Medical Practice is an efficient setup, so local GP is nicely covered as well.

I will probably drop you a note through to your email and let you know of any specific roads we are going to look at (assuming you dont mind of course). There is a big house on Tagwell for sale at the moment but it needs a lot of refurbishment...but it may be too much for us in terms of the work needed. You may know the house I mean if you drive along that road, there is a skip in the drive at the moment!
O.K. It's where we live so may be biased but put Hallow near Worcester on your radar. Brilliant village with a great community spirit that you can dip in and out of as you like. A busy main road through the village but off this are some really nice lanes. Moved here 5 years ago and even if we won the lottery would look to stay in the village albeit in something bigger!

I maybe have a work proposal on Kidderminster and didn't like what I have read.... Chavs mainly.
I don't have a car (I moved to the UK recently) but the work has a company car, so I would have no problem living out of the city centre on a calmer area. The problem is that my girlfriend still needs to improve her English so the work that would suit her would be a face to face position job, like mcdonalds, Aldi, etc, but that only exists on the city centre, and since she has to go on foot...
Hope you can give me some guiding regarding this problem, if there is a nearby city or town from where I can commute to Kidderminster and that some stores and restaurants where she can work.
