Something else suitably impractical / noisy I hope Sort of a long story, but due to a re-plan of the family fleet (son learning to drive) I need a daily driver so either a 996 turbo or a 997 Carrera 2S to do the job that the Tuscan and the A6 currently do.

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable compromise ! haha 996T is a wonderful bit of kit. Very nearly took the plunge on one of them myself, and then drove a 997T and decided to wait for those to become affordable (relatively speaking) instead.. Potential for big bills on 996T is large, hence the good current market value, but boy will it make you smile when you hit the right pedal

TBH 997 2S is looking more attractive. Almost as fast, much cheaper to run, newer.

A friend has a C4S Cab, and despite it being a 'not for purists' body shape with no roof, it's a really very nice, very capable car. IMHO the 997 is much prettier car, but in terms of bang for your buck, a 996T is pretty untouchable at around at the current market value After last months Kemble meet, I'm still trying to work out which child or body organ I can sell to fund a 997GT3 after taking a shine to the grey example... I wonder how long before they become 30k ?

Possibly a couple of others too but waiting to confirm. Kezzie, if the weather is kind to us, would it be too cheeky to ask for a short passenger ride in the Atom? Have been wanting a ride in one for ages but circumstances keep going against me. I can bring my own lid if need be.

Morgs, I'm sure we could come to some arrangement You will definitely need some for of eye protection if not a lid. I'm hoping to convince at least one more Atom to come along so keep your eye's peeled.

Hi all it's great to see that this is building up a head of steam. Just to confirm the date again is 25th march 9:30 at the AV8 cafe at Kemble airport. I know everyone who came last time know where it is, but others may be looking. I will put posts in other areas on here and have written to a few clubs so let's hope for good weather and a good turn out, I will also have another chat to the cafe to expect us

I have been advised by my domestic goddess that I am double booked on Sunday and am expected to be in Coventry visiting the AP's (those who ever read Swallows and Amazons will know who AP's are), so I have to miss out on breakfast, cars and petrilhead chat. Weather forecast looks great, have a good meet folks.
