Martin.
Thanks for the offer, but I have considered long and hard......
5 days on my own, sleeping in a tent, on the floor ! I just cant overcome that for the Classic. I'd rather spend that time and money on another break with the wife. Maybe if it was 3 days, but now its Wednesday first thing, it may aswell be a week. The best bit I was looking forward to was the drive down in convoy, not the classics.
So in short, im declaring myself out.

Wednesday! I would check on that i dont think the organisers are allowing camping untill the thursday. That is as far as Tertre rouge goes. Masion blanc may be diferent. Journey fron Cherbourg is what you make it. A quick blast down the mway oe winding b roads. I would avoid going through le mans though its massive and busy. shaun

Plan was to do the scenic route down and stop off Weds night somewhere, travel the last bit on the D438 (old N138). Or we can just go Thursday, not worried, happy to go with either - we do need to decide though. Giles, no problem mate - I understand. Would be great to hear the Jag thundering along Frances finest roads though! Sean - yep, Le Mans centre ville to be avoided, ring road is fun though

Pardon for jumping on your thread but two of us, in two cars, are booked on the 0700 Thursday morning ferry from Poole to Cherbourg. Then driving down to Le Mans. FYI Maison Blanche camping seems to be full so we have booked Karting Nord. Would love to join you in trip down. I am coming down from Sherston, so had intended to stay local Wednesday night, saving a very early start thursday morning. Return trip on speed ferry £188.00.

More the merrier....means more tools to hand when my jap-crap breaks down This whole stopping off is new to us, we used to just set off from Derby late Wednesday night, drive down to Dover, get the ferry over to calais...then drive in a bit. Get a hours kip then set off for lemans. We were always knackered though

Ok all, let's just settle on Thursday 7am Poole ferry back Monday lunchtime ferry from Cherbourg. To confirm you will definitely be coming and are ok with the costs - approx £275 for Club Valan including entrance & food plus approx £200-250 for the ferry return trip, please can you personal mail me from my profile. ETA - these costs are per person based on 2/car for the ferry with one camping pitch. I will pay the deposits for Club Valan and book the ferry. If we are staying in Poole Weds night, I suggest you book this yourselves as some will want to stay and some will travel to Poole early Thursday am. Looks like this is shaping up nicely! Giles- come on chap - jump on board, camping is quite civilised these days - we have all the kit including raised camp beds you can use plus a back up van for the kit. You know you want to

Having looked at all the options I will probably go out from Plymouth on the Thursday morning and come back with the rest of you on the Monday.
Martin, is 'Club Valans' within the circuit?

At the Aerodrome Corin - option for in circuit coming back to me on Monday hopefully so I will post up if we can get the pitches. This will be cheaper, no food included (not a biggy as we can bbq) but toilets and showers not as good (quite a biggy).

Plus points: Closer to track Should be cheaper (as no food included) Brian can book the ferry Minus: Quite a walk to the stands / village I will confirm prices in a bit if I can get a reply ( for Poole and Plymouth routes) Views Gents?
