Karting nord is one Ive never tried (done red, blue north and MB, along with a hotel...which was the worst of the lot, it took the whole atmosphere away from the trip), so Im up for it! No inclusive food is not a problem to me as I'll quite happily sit by the bbq all weekend....four days of BBQ with no wife forced greenery is one of the reasons I go to Lemans biglaugh Also toilet and shower facilities is no issue either....in the spirit of lemans I will quite happily que for an hour chatting to fellow Leman'ers before enduring the ice cold (some times welcomed if its a toasty race weekend) shower....bring it on biggrin
Just looking at a plan, Karting Nord aint too far from the grandstands....think there's a tunnel leading underneath the track aint there? Closer to everything else though...looks to be bang in the middle of everything.

Copied off BeerMountain...

A good place to be - close to the action, relaxed feel and lots of space. Can get a bit dusty if its a dry race

Situated on the infield road towards Arnage past Camping Houx. Increasingly popular, drawing a mixed European crowd this site is a good compromise if you think Houx is too far a walk from your tent when you want to see the track. Everything is within 15 minutes walk, and the track can be viewed from the campsite.

Pitches are now numbered and pre-marked.

Pros:

As close to the track as you can get without actually being on it.
Within fair walking reach of general admission entrance.
Great viewing area on-top of the karting track pit garages, which doesn't require general admission!
Adequate W/C.
Food & Beer available via Kebab stand if you can't be bothered to cook or have ran out of supplies.

Cons.....

To be honest I dont think any of the cons will be relevant to the classic.

To confirm, I'm definatly in regardless of the plans.

Karting is a bit of a trek for me as i'm disabled, but as the classic isn't so busy traffic wise, wont be a problen for me to drive around during the day. Looking forward to it!! smile

Don't forget if it is really hot we can go to the outdoor swimming pool in Le Mans for swim, shower and wash. we have done this before, mind you some years ago and it is a really nice outdoor pool.
For what its worth we chose Karting Nord as has small number of pitches compared to others thumbup

Sounds good to me mate! There is disabled parking round the grandstands, which during the normal le mans, is impossible to get too because of the crowds, but i would imagine for the classic, its more accessable! I'll have to get myself a disabled access pass. I dont mind being the shuttle thumbup

Meet up and drive down together would be great! I need someone with a bit of mechanical knowledge and strength for a push when i break down biggrinbiggrin

Oddly the last one I drove was also Gold. I was most impressed by the funky rear seats.
