[quote=Yellow Fever]Motorbreath - to take a crack at the Autosolo in your own car, you need to take... your own car. And £25 which is £5 at the gate and £20 to enter the Autosolo. For this you can spectate round the main circuit all day, have full paddock access and get a passenger ride with the 'Autosolo Stig' round the course before doing your 3 timed runs to see if you can top the leaderboard. You can buy extra runs for a bit extra.

Plus of course, access to around 50 cars to buy a ride in starting from £20 out on the main circuit.quote]

Thanks very much Yellow - Best get the car sorted this weekend! smash And I'll need to find some cash... biggrin

See you all there

Gates open 08:30, ticket office opens 09:00 first come, first served. Your donation goes straight into the hands of the Stroke Association people, at the event. The drivers and everyone on the operations team are all volunteers and the charity is extremely grateful for their kind support.

Serious bit over, the event is a massive hoot and the thrill factor is as big as we can make it inside the bounds of common sense safety. Pleased you can join us, now, bring all your mates!

Looks like fun!

Can you still volunteer a car and driver for this year? If not happy to put my name down for next year.

I was there on the 4th of this month on a track day and loved the circuit + 20 mins from my house!

Great cause by the way! yes

I went out in the red 200SX last year. I think he was one of the Forge guys?

A lady came in to drop her helmet back in and I overheard her saying he was sliding it about a bit, so I spoke to him in the paddock and asked if he'd do a bit of drifting. He didn't disappoint.

It's hilarious, and I would definitely say everyone needs to have a go in a drift car at some point. If not just to see how effortless they make it look.

The approach to the Esses is good. He done a Manji - like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoErWThOHhg On the straight from Quarry to the Esses, then drifted it through the Esses.

Will there be any NSXs there. Over on that forum I think it was indicated there were 4 but I can't see any on the lists?

I'd certainly consider it next year, but need to upgrade the brakes first. They overheat pretty fast on track.
There will be a few of us in the paddock area though.

Cheers,

James.

I've been trying to find an apportunity to test one for size being a bit of a lanky boy. Do you think any of those going would mind if I came and said hello and tried the drivers seat for comfort?

Sure, no problem. If you're really tall you can always get a custom cushion made. I know a couple of guys who have done this and they get on fine. Targa's have slightly less headroom than coupes.
Anyway, we'd be happy to talk about the cars if you're interested.

Cheers.

Drifting - we will have two demo sessions, one in the late morning and one in the early afternoon. Six cars, as per the list above. We will be selling passenger seats if you are mad enough to get in one and have signed the insurance disclaimer. If the drifitng is a big hit - that is if we sell all the seats - then we will probably do more of it next year.

Some of the drift crew will also be running in the track sessions but not going side-a-ways, I hope, as the last thing you need to meet when cornering at 120mph in Radical is a big cloud of smoke with a ton of car somewhere in the middle of it.

BTW, I've just realised I'm a total muppet and have missed our top man Simon Tilling in an Aston Martin V12 Vantage off the list. Simon is multiple Combe GT champion and one of the top rides of the day, so my humble apologies to Simon.

Add to the list the only estate car in the event, the Audi S4 sheepdog transporter, product of the fevered minds of Stroud tractor boys Turner Race Developments and rumoured to be minting over 500BHP. It runs on TVO, has 4-wheel drive, low ratio, diff lock and a canvas tilt. Probably. Plus, they can drive the old girl a bit and often give Boss Hogg a run for his money on the local dirt tracks in those parts. Yee-ha! [I'm allowed to josh on this subject as I also come from Stroud]

Driving duty on the S4 estate by Dan Turner, making this car the surprise fast package of the day for many people I suspect.

On NSXs, I'm not aware we've had one offered for this year. If we did then apologies, I missed it. Anyone who wants to talk should pm me please, asap. I'm still looking forward to seeing a few of these very nice cars in the paddock parking though.

What is the dB limit at CC for this event please Yellow?

As with all the cars, the Lambo is on track subject to passing a noise test and yes, you CAN drive it up and down on the road outside the circuit flat stick all day quite legally, but you CAN'T drive it on a motor racing circuit if it's a bit noisy.
