I've won pots in lots of unsuitable vehicles. An 1800cc Mondeo springs to mind, as does an 1100cc Clio (in the <2000cc class). The car's largely unimportant for winning classes. It's 100% unimportant for having fun. Turning circle is irrelevant - you rarely hit full lock - and diesels are not disadvantaged.
Regardless, compared to my track Fiesta, I didn't want to take my 170k 320D out. I wouldn't have been having fun, I'd be worried about killing it somehow, tyres which I can't afford and wishing I was in the Fiesta! Shotgun in a 182 and MX-5 was more than good enough.

Hi Matt, fair enough mate. We've had a lot of 'unsuitable' cars on our events, but even so they still go round OK. If you have any sideways pics of me could you send me some?

Cheers

Dave

Think I only got photos of my friends Dave, as when they weren't out I was chatting to them not taking photos, sorry!
