We went year. Interesting place place an interesting drive to get to it across the plain with burnt out tanks etc.

The church has very informative displays and my lad found a used casing off a spent round so he was well chuffed!

Access to Imber

The Ministry of Defence has told us that, subject to any urgent operational need, the roads to Imber will be open between 1600hrs on 20th December 2013 and 0800hrs on 6th January 2014.



Christmas and New Year Open Days (New)

St Giles Church will be open to visitors between 27th December and 5th January. The church will open at 11am and close at 4pm each day. Refreshments will be available each day. Honey, literature and the usual postcards will also be on sale.

How do you get there? It appears there is access from both Warminster and Tilshead?
As there is a pic of an Elise can I assume the roads are ok? Don't fancy off roading in something unsuitable.

The road is acceptable but dotted with a few potholes, so caution is advised.

A major cycle event is routed through here this morning, so will be busy.

Speed limit is 30mph I think, and you can even buy a cuppa and a mince pie in the church for £1.50

If you go in via the A360, turn off here at Gore Cross:
