It's about a 25min (limits observed) run from Costa to Compass, so a fairly prompt exit at 8.15 should work well for a quick u-turn and pick up at The Compass at 8.45. From there we should comfortably make it to Gordano for a meet-up with the other convoys at 9.30, if that's agreed.

I've allowed for more time at the Swindon end, as I will get there early and there are coffee facilities there for those who need a pick me up at that time in the morning. I've then allowed a little bit more time at Gordano, as again people can stop for a drink and there will be a lot of people there.
If we all agree, I'll put this on my first post and keep that updated.

You can turn up just on time - no need to be there at the earliest point, just the leaving time. No doubt I will be late, as usual.
We won't be meeting you guys at junction 16 but intend to join you at junction 17 ! Thus having the intention of joining the convoy en route and arrive together for junction 18. Either may catch you on the slip road of junction 17 or Leigh Delly services or simply do a rolling road en route. See you guys tomorrow.

......I know it's very last minute but has anyone spoken to the Compass Inn?
They will have weekend guests, I guess there will be some noise........and the number of cars attending now may well swamp their car parking......
......it would be a shame to upset them and get us banned in future.
Maybe call them and ask if they could provide coffee for early arrivals? Then they get something out of it too......
Since this is a charity event let's be charitable?
Otherwise as a local I may go straight to Cribbs as a better alternative.
