We are up for a meet Sunday, not worried whether morning or later afternoon. Either venue, really not worried, after the crap week I've had just want to get out in car and have some fun...

Will look out on forum for final decisions and if there's no meet, hubby and I will go for a drive out Sunday on our own...

Why the whole breakfast/morning thing on Sundays? I am not much of a morning person at the best of times - I can get it in winter when it's dark but now we have lovely long afternoons it seems a bit wrong not to take it a bit easy in the morning then get stuck into the fun in the afternoon...

Ok chaps I've got another suggestion - how about Exeter Court Hotel just off the A38 at Kennford? They have a massive amount of parking and are open to the public. Lots of room in the restaurant or bar area and reasonably priced. Would be perfect!

P.S I would favour the evening too as the wife won't moan as much about me being out doing something she deems ridiculous (cars, meeting strangers etc.)!

Most people have busy Saturdays with work, sports, beer, family trips and so on to take up the day. During the week people work all sorts of hours and again evenings are taken up by either more work or sporting activities. Meets on these days sometimes work but are ussually best as one offs set way in advance. Sunday is generally a day of rest but most don't want the whole day taken up by a meet so it gets staged in the morning so depending on how much time you have to waste you can leave at whatever point of the day you wish. The last one I set off at 9am and had such a blast I didn't return till 6hrs later. Like all things people enjoy there is some element of commitment to it and effort involved and not everything will suit all, all of the time. Sunday morning suits most, most of the time. I would be happy to attend an evening meet but I have also booked time off work to attend (Wednesday evening meet) and arrived on less than 4hrs sleep to support the push for local attendance. I have organised my fair share and also dragged out quite a few people to them and it's a far cry now from what the community was in the early days. For me it's not about people just turning up when it's easiest for them it's people making great effort by organising one of their own or travelling great distances at most inconvenience to attend that singles us all out as pistonheaders. Sometimes it just doesn't fit with money issues or prior engagements but we all get these problems. I'm not much of a morning person either blame 2 years of working nights for that smile but for a consistent monthly meet throughout the year I think it's best. Maybe if you and clearly a few others want it you should just organise your own evening meet. I will try and make it along too. Otherwise I was thinking of setting up a midweek evening run sometime in July/august with some pub grub at the end of it myself.

As per original post it's probably going to just take making a decision and a date and see how it goes as like I said not all are ever going to agree. From experience though the south west bunch get bored easy so the routes need to pretty interesting and varied so the more accessible a lot of places are the better IMO thumbup

Ian and I are going to go to Powderham Castle for brunch. They don't open until 10am and the OrangeryI serve snacks, light lunches as well as breakfast. We fancy the venue as somewhere a little different to the norm. We will arrive there about 10.30-10.45, so anyone fancy it, we'll see you there.

With little commitment to dates and times, this wont get off the ground.

Can the OP take a stab at a date and time, venue - take your pick

We can discuss the next one at the same time

Right, I have been down to Totnes today and there is a great cafe with a large car park right next door called the Riverside Cafe on Steamer Quay in the centre of the town. I hope this venue will be convenient for those coming from the Exeter, Plymouth or Torbay directions.

I appreciate that next weekend is Easter weekend, but with other events during the first couple of weeks of May I suggest a meet and coffee next Sunday to try out the venue. They do coffee, bacon sandwich's and a full Monty English breakfast, so I hope they will cater for all tastes.

I do not intend to organise a drive after so will leave that to those attending to sort out their own runs if they wish. Therefore, if you want to you can turn up, have a coffee and some bacon whilst talking cars, and then be back home by 11.00 for family duties !!

Yes. From 9.00am until 10.30am at the above cafe on the Steamer Quay in the centre of Totnes for coffee and bacon sandwiches and plenty of car talk. People can then arrange runs from there or disappear back home in time to go to Church !!

Let me know if you are able to attend so we can judge the likely attendance.

The Riverside Café at Steamer Quay in Totnes is the final agreed venue. This Sunday arrive between 9am-10.30am.

Ian and I are coming along in our GTR, together with friends from Crediton and their Supra......

Anyone else for a spot of brekkie and car talk?
