Did anyone notice if the Imola red E46 M3 had an off ? The chap driving that looked rather handy at catching the rear end around Quarry and the following chicane. Unlike the chap in the RX8 with Orange wheels - someone should have booked him onto the skid pan training rather than the track!
The Caged one? If so, yes, he had an off - he was really pushing on during a tussle with a VW - eventually got past it, then disappeared for a period before reappearing with damage;

The Vento is a perfect example of how a well set up car combined with a driver who knows the track can dominate.
A lot of PH members could do with watching the vento get around as it might help them reassess their preconception that a FWD car with a 6 cylinder engine equals certain failure and no driver involvement. That VR6 was carrying a tremendous amount of speed given the damp/moist surface.

Take a bow a1whitey. He told me the aim was to crash it so technically he wasn't bad enough
I knew there was a chance someone on here would know him. Highly amusing since the only thing he crashed into was a green cone - which he proceeded to drag around the track for a few more laps. Did he keep it as a trophy?

I highly dislike anyone who takes this attitude on to the track, if that was an intention. I feel sorry for anyone who had to share the circuit with the car/him.
I think it was said in jest, few people set out to actually have a crash. And those that do mostly do it on the road...That'll be this RX8 then! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mazda-RX8-192-track-car-...
He bought it to use on track as he's too scared to take his GTR on track, according to the description!

condemning stuff from the fun police
When people are spending tens of thousands of pounds on their cars, it's not fun if some plonker looking for an accident involves them when he takes the plunge. How would you like it if I said I was into dynamite and your house looked like it'd be fun to blow up? Money aside, "Motorsport is dangerous" is printed on your ticket and on signs all around the race track. There's a reason for that. Spending a few months in hospital or attending a funeral is not fun. Nor is a wife and kids losing their home because the main earner in the household was injured/killed. Take some responsibility. You do realise if somebody was going to crash they could drive into the nearest wall. The people who get the most enjoyment out of a track day are the ones who drive something that is an unnecessary or uncared about object. Do remember this is a track day not a race and regardless of that some of the most successful drivers are those who some class as reckless. It's a line that many can't distinguish. At the end of it all it's a bit of fun. No need to get all heated up about it. All on track stick within the rules or they would be booted off.

I hope that was the case, and I withdraw my moan if so and apologise. Fun yes, but going with the attitude of not intending to have the car in one piece at the end came across a little reckless when there are others to consider on the circuit at the same time. TDIfurby said:

Hey man I understand the frustration . Some people dont respect the car or track and end up having a big off, these people are an obstacle. I should know, I didmt respect a car last year and binned it Edited by Pebbles167 on Thursday 1st May 00:16

350Z went into the pit wall during the day too. Caught on video by a GTR from my group.
Was that the metallic red GTR, 14 plate? If so, he looked as though he was massively overdriving that new car. Got sideways over Avon rise a few times in the wet and nearly stacked it, as well as quite simply entering Quarry too fast, putting on full lock and hoping the computers would save him. Fortunately for him, they did.

I had a passenger ride in the car during the day, in the damp, and it didn't feel like it was being pushed too hard. The car is very balanced and although tail looked to come out it was very controllable and I felt safe as houses in the car. The 14 plate ones are setup up quite differently to previous gen GTRs.Got sideways over Avon rise a few times in the wet and nearly stacked it, as well as quite simply entering Quarry too fast, putting on full lock and hoping the computers would save him. Was there and very glad I wasn't on track this time. Watching at quarry in the morning and some of the driving was shocking.3 wide into quarry...it's not a race, you don't have a small Penis if someone overtakes you. Wish some people could.understand that.
Show was Ok, plenty of decent cars on display. And it's good to see the new management putting in new measures and making more of a show with it. Think they will draw in more trade stands next year like the forge day.
Will have to use my camera more and have a hunt for ph members next time.

Haha, as Lee said, yes it was me in the RX8.

I buy a cheap sub 1k car for these days so have the maximum fun in as I'm not having to worry about others on the track hitting you, as well as having to hold back my own driving as much. I would obviously never intentionally cause a crash (who would?)
But even if I did and the car was wrecked with not a penny worth of spares to be savaged, 1k is less than the wear and tear I'd cause on the gtr's brakes and tyres alone.
Here is a video of some of the action:
