As the Hillclimb season is almost at its end, I thought it would be good to visit Wiscombe Park. A beautifull venue, with a great variety of cars. Its the "Five Clubs" meeting. We could have a late brekkie/ drive, also !

That's only 90 minutes (80 miles) from Bristol. I've been a few times and it's a pretty mental hill. Turn up ready to marshal and they give you a free lunch...

Ive been thinking of suitable a "brekkie" stop (most important !)for our Wiscombe meeting on the 7th Sept. The Route "5" diner on Haldon Hill seems worth testing ! I thought meet at 10am, followed by a drive to arrive at Wiscombe around 12 o'c. Thoughts ?

How is it in A3 nowadays????? ,I used to run a mk1 escort many years ago and held the record at 44.03 for many years, I think they changed all the records after a while ,what is it now ?
cheers

A3 is well supported, varied and competitive Andy! A lot of the regular frontrunners seem to be missing this coming weekend though including Gary Pitt in his Mk2 Escort, no idea why.
Not sure what the class record is, I run a virtually standard 172 Cup so I won't be troubling it for the forseeable future!

According to the ASWMC, the A3 record's now 44.23.

Hope it's a good event, I'm off to a wedding instead...

The ASWMC record isn't the outright record, but the fastest time by an ASWMC championship contender. THe outright record might well be faster (and it seems it is).

Im considering booking a table (or several !) for Sunday's brekkie meeting on Sunday. There seems to quite a bit of interest via SW Kit-cars on Facebook for this at the "Route 5" diner on Haldon Hill. We are meeting at 10am. All are welcome !!

I'm hoping to get across to watch some of the hillclimb, but doubt I'll make the brekkie. If I do it won't be in the Maser, as a well known supplier of SPARES for EUROpean cars seem to unable to process an order (silly me, when you asked me my card details I thought you would actually take payment), or update me on delivery time when they do finally put the order through 3 weeks after my first phone call.

Paul (with a car still in bits since Silverstone Classic in July and wishing he'd just gone into Carrs for the parts).

Another fantastic day at Wiscombe, thankfully the weather smiled upon us which as most of you will know, is not guaranteed at Wis!

Congrats to Dave & Andy, great results guys, see you next year.

If anybody got any good action shots please share... smile
