Well that's what you call progress rolleyes As I (unsuccessfully) tried to say, I'm not being critical, I'm just making a constructive observation. If you had read my other post's you'd know I'm a big fan of this event and it has grown over the years. There was sheep st everywhere, one way to try to over come this would be to ask the farmer to move his sheep earlier, to do this might require a small cost to be paid to the farmer, or he might be more than happy just to move them with no cost, it was only a suggestion. The disabled toilet was also a suggestion and would open the show to all.
The show I helped to organize, we asked for donations, with a minimum suggested donation of £5 per car, or whatever people could spare, (I might add some people donated a lot more than the suggested) a trick that could be replicated here and I had no refusals. This will generate more money for the worthy causes and cover the cost of maybe getting the field rolled.

The hold up people faced and turned away from was due to a lorry trailer fire near the Taunton junction round about, the police had to close one lane, it was not the show itself causing the hold up, sorry you couldn't make it.

One thing I did notice this year was that car clubs seemed less dominant this year which did mean the layout was much more random. The meet did seem much better for this as you never knew what you were going to see as you wondered around.

Was great to see two other RX7s there both completely standard too smile

Thanks all for postings. Constructive criticism is equally welcome.
To cover points mentioned, it is a working field which is indeed occupied up to a couple of days before the event. It is the farmer's generosity which allows us the use of this field. Because of tree roots and cattle, inevitably its surface has become uneven in places over the years. If it appears worse it is because in previous years we have avoided the uneven areas but now with increasing numbers of attendees (over 1200 display vehicles this year) we have had to use the entire field.
The food shortage was unfortunate. This will be addressed next year with additional outlets providing a choice of food.
Facilities for disabled lavatories will be provided next year now this has been pointed out.
Money cannot be raised by charging for the reasons pointed out by his 'Lordship'. In doing so we would face a massive wall of bureaucracy.
Traffic was unfortunate. Again, the reason has been pointed out, several roads in the area were closed due to road works necessitating all traffic to use the A358, added to which, a Lorry had caught fire by the motorway roundabout reducing all traffic to one lane.

Garry, many thanks for your response. I understand now, how more areas have had to be used due to the increasing volume of cars, great to hear about the toilets, Victoria will be pleased!! I understand about the money situation, on a scale of this size, you're talking of over 6K in cash floating about for the entrants alone @ just £5 each car!!
I can see alot of hard work has gone into the display and glad you understand I was trying to be constructive, did enjoy our day and haven't missed one now for three years. Hope to see you next year and, with a bit of luck, will have a car to display!! smile

I thought it was fantastic, yes traffic was an issue but nothing to do with the organisers. Top marks all round.

An excellent day. Really enjoyed it, although did miss out on the bacon butties after they ran out.

Left about 3.00pm and the traffic wasn't too bad.

Count me in for next year.
