Awesome day out, cut short by a front splitter that just wouldn't stay on the car. Tore through the front crash box, snapped 4 aluminium stays, wore out 2 skid plates and then the whole floor. Too much downforce at Folly! That Honda Civic was stupidly fast - it took me a couple of laps to catch it. The few people who got rides with me seemed to enjoy themselves and it's the first time I've had a round of applause from the passenger seat.

hi andy and obiwonkeyblokey lol.

andy i was the one replying to you on the youtube vid. sorry about stealing your time last night. i will look into the requirements/licences needed for sprinting at some point. i might try and speak to a few people next time i'm at a sprint.

andy im 99% sure this is you/your car. having said that no doubt it wont be now and i will have got the model wrong too lol

this isnt the best picture but you can see your splitter was on the ground. this would of been out of quarry corner and around mid morning, from memory.

and obiwonkeyblokey, i took a few of you but this is the best quality one by a good margin. im not exactly small and the wind was blowing me off balance at times frown this would of been around old paddock bend probably around lunch time ish.

Great day out really enjoyed it, still buzzing from it and still knackered!
Was a special day for me and friends as it was the very first outing in our Honda Civic type R racer which was finished after a 16 month rebuild at 9.30pm on Friday evening(in typical club racer fashion)
Thanks Richard Jones for all your efforts and look forward to raising some more money next year.

Yes, Adam, that's my car. You can see in the second photo that the splitter is pointing down as it's torn the crash box and snapped the forward stays. The first photo is interesting. It's on the pit exit, where I was on the limiter in 6th, which is 118mph on the gearing I was using (I need a bigger front sprocket). You can see the splitter and diffuser ride height is certainly less than 20mm, which considering it's 60mm in the paddock suggests quite a lot of downforce.

Dan - you were stonkingly quick. For a car that's based on a production shell and only just rolled onto the track, the pace was phenomenal. It took a couple of laps to catch you, which is considerably longer than it took to catch anyone else.

Yes andy I heard you were on the limiter.
Definately some downforce you were getting! Glad the pictures show how low it was for you.

Dan i have some pictures of your civic in my album also.

Cheers easy life. I think I had one of yours in my album. I still have a fair few to go through so I will still be adding to the album if there are any decent pictures left that is lol.

I went out with Andy in the ADR. Awesome experience!!
Can't thank you enough for that Andy - gave me a break from working in the pits all day trying to allocate people to cars. Hopefully your hit rate went up after my ride - I talked about it enough!!

You have a tough job in there pairing people up with the cars they want. I'm glad you enjoyed it. The front splitter was my biggest trouble, so that limited my runs. Also, the fact that nobody seemed interested in going out in my car in the morning, although I didn't do a lap alone after you had a run in it.
