Ian and I up for 7th December. Whatever you decide we'll join in. Last trip in the GTR was a very steady 700mile round trip to modified live at brands hatch at beginning of the month. Definitely in need of a pipe opener...

I spotted that and had a chuckle - the guy got 8 months i believe.

My car is going in to the garage for the week from 2nd Dec, needs an AYC & ACD pump rebuild, so im having a couple other bits replaced at the same time, and maybe a remap !! That will be a lovely bill at christmas time.
Anyway, if its back before the weekend, i may still go for a blast on the 7th, but i cant organise anything until a day or 2 before when i know the car will be back.
If its not back - i'll organise something for 13th/14th Dec

OH - And of course, i will go for a run between christmas and new year too, blow away the cobwebs

Paul - has the Nob been rebuilt all together or did you finally do those bodywork changes ?

Please see bottom of main page of Pistonheads to see evidence I was not driving my Nob at the time, however the driver of the Polo.......!!!!!!
Yes mate the car is back together with a healthy 503bhp. Haven't done any body work as yet, that will be for next year along with a re-trim.

Upgraded injectors, GT28 turbos, adjusted cam timing, bigger intercooler, larger fuel pump, stronger actuators, high flow exhaust stronger valve springs and remap. This has all been gradual, once passed 400bhp its only a matter of time before the gearbox lets go as mine did back in April!!! It's taken a while but now has a much stronger upgraded Helix clutch and a strengthened gearbox, complete with oil pump and cooler. It is fairly lairy with only the one boost setting, will have a high and low boost setting eventually.
Edit to add, anytime Giles, just need to get some decent rubber for the rears, my SO2's are like concrete!!!

That sounds awesome, ive done most of that to the evo now (intercooler going on at the tuners as we speak) but with only 2.0 litres there is a limit before the rods risk bending. However the tuner keeps nagging me to forge the engine and spend 6k on it to get 550hp from a 2.0 litre block !!!!!!! I reckon it'd be undriveable and a waste of money. His own evo 6 is aiming to be 650hp but its a track weapon only.

Anyway, when i get the car back, i'll stick up a thread for a drive out

I'm just praying for a few moments of turbo lag, before you disappear into the distance Paul. I do hope all those lovely whistles pops and hisses remain. Best car to follow, after the 455.
