There is a facebook arranged meet in the gorge on Sunday evening...over 1000 people have said they are attending.

Even if they get 30-40% of that number, I feel sorry for anyone that lives near by!

1000 cars? That's ridiculous.

It pretty much closed the gorge a few years ago at the last big PH meet when a couple of hundred cars turned up.

If that many go then it'll cause no end of problems, especially on a bank holiday weekend.

OMG its up to 1100 attendees now - It looks a bit chavtastic Corsa-ville.

Still tempted tho, if 300 turn up there have to be some nice cars......but to invite so many people it may be a cruise type of event. Although they have mentioned our last PH meet there, so some norm's must be in attendance

From past experience its like visiting a VW showroom, but where each car is slightly lower than the previous.

Glad it was not sorted through PH then

Always nice to see rare and exotic cars at events but as said, I feel this will be a chav fest as well

Watching it on facebook - The local community are already being warned about "boy racers" in the gorge and going through the village.

I'm sightly tempted to cycle over just to watch the carnage. Would that be wrong?

If you cycle over you may be part of that carnage

Theres only one way in from either end of the gorge. Be better if the cops just stuck a car either end and turned them away. They done it a few times with the "cruises " down Weston Super Mud many moons ago.

It's normal and was the same price last year at least (used to be a bit cheaper). Only during 'peak' season - March to Sept ish.

I was happy to pay it. The gorge is one of my favourite places and it goes towards the upkeep of the road etc as well as management of the site in general (tree work and so on). And having huge numbers of PH cars turn up does cause them ome inconvenience too and obviously lost revenue from tourists who can't fit in the carparks.

I was tempted to take the 355, but I think I'll steer well clear of the carnage. As said, the local rag is predicting the end of the world: http://www.cheddarvalleygazette.co.uk/Police-brace...

And again as said, it most likely won't be a good thing for car meets there!

It certainly will be chaos if anything like that number turn up. I drove down the gorge at 4:30 and while there are a few chavs/drifters there and parked up already, Cheddar Caves are coning off the carparks as the grockles leave. But there are still lots of grockles in the village and all the way up the gorge. I see from the FB page that some of the big brave ones are saying they'll just park at the side of the side of the road; I think they'll find that will count as obstruction. Others are saying they'll move on to Weston.

Weston would be a more logical place for something like that with that many cars a little village not so much. Was reading on the facebook page that vosa have warned they may attend which would be hilarious to watch considering how butchered some of those cars are.

Vosa should turn up and check every car .as most little boy racer's don't declare all there mods there for driving illegally .Because they can't afford to insure there car's after modifications But yet they spend the money on modifying it
