The route has now been checked ready for Sunday, so we're all systems go.

Does anyone actually need a tomtom file? I'll have printed copies of the route for everyone on the day.

The ignition switch has just failed on my car. I have ordered a new one which should be here by Thursday and am hoping to have it fitted in time. If not I may have to attend by Hotwiring the car - won't look too suspicious !

Good news: my new ignition switch arrived and has been fitted so the car is good to go! Although the car is a Porsche, the switch had Audi markings on it so I was let down by VAG parts.

Bristol Tunnel Run 2015 - Sunday 6th September
As said on PH, plan is to meet in the Staples car park at the bottom of the M32, just off Houlton Street (opposite the Shell petrol station).
I'll be there from about 4pm, aiming to start the run around 4.30pm or just after. Aiming to finish at the pub between 6:30-7pm.
For those who have attended before, the route will be slightly different as we won't be able to get to a couple of our favourite tunnels due to road closures, and I've also taken out a section of the route which is difficult and we end up losing people. So with this in mind I've added 2 extra which we've only done once before smile emoticon
The last 2 tunnels are optional as i know that one of the roads is single track and can get very narrow in places. There will be a note on the route instructions for those who don't want to do this road. They can either go straight to the pub or wait a few minutes (just up the road) for us to catch up with them.
The Huntsman Inn are more than happy to have us back again, and they've reserved us the 'top room' so we have our own area in the pub. If you want to eat at the pub, please remember the kitchen closes at 8pm.
I'll be heading out over the weekend to double check the route and hope that the idiot in red trousers (the Bristol mayor) hasn't closed any more roads, put more speed cameras in or turned the whole of the South West into a 20mph zone!!
Any questions?

Route instructions etc are now all printed, so we're all systems go smile no changes to the plan regarding start time etc, so still aiming to leave around 16:30.

Can we have a last show of keys to say who is planning to attend so i can try and make sure we have everyone before setting off (I've removed those who initially said no to the date, but if you can now make it please re-add yourselves).
If anyone wants my mobile number, please drop me a PM and I'll send it through.

Have had a major fcensoredk up on one of my motors today which I now have to take care of tomorrow morning. I am still hopeful of attending in another car provided it doesn't take all day to sort out the other bloody thing. Sadly I wont be 100% certain until sometime tomorrow lunchtime or just after. I will do my best to be there though.

Can anyone give a ROUGH idea of the length of the route or how long it will take (for those of us with kids etc to consider and so on)?

Should be around 2-2.5hrs ish. All depending on traffic etc, so if you need to head off early for kiddy duty etc, not a problem smile

Turns out that a pin had broken off inside my quife atb diff preventing it from engaging forward gear properly (it's a BEC) Major headache so have had to strip rear of car, remove diff, strip it and will have to rebild it. Sorry to say it means I wont make the tunnel run today. Would have been my 1st PH event too. Gutted is not the word.

Well it was fun while it lasted! 2 tunnels in and my new ignition switch failed me.
After much swearing and trying to dismantle the car using the few tools I had, I managed to reach the back of the switch. I couldn't find anything wrong so put the car back together and tried the key one more time only to find the car started.
Decided to call it a day rather than get stuck again.
Hope it went well for the rest of you.
