Where to get a wheel rim repaired?

Been advised by Porsche specialist that a rear wheel rim on my 996 has a flat spot, any suggestions for somebody decent to straighten it out for me without costing the earth?

MyAlloys in Bristol can probably help you out. They can reround wheels and have sorted 2 sets of Porsche alloys for me.

south west wheel repairs removed a flat spot from one of the alloys they refurbed for me recently. Bearing in mind its a forged wheel, I expect that was no mean feat. But they have the skills.

Where are they based? Or are they mobile?

South west wheel Repair are on Marsh barton opposite Audi dealer.

Bob is top bloke and quality of work is 2nd to none IMHO.

Have let him work on a host of my supercars wheels and wouldn't use anyone else

Yes, but the wheel will not look too good afterwards

It depends where they are hitting it I suppose. I remember watching him do a wheel and it was a heating up and hitting with a mallet, and then the machine its mounted to spins it up and you can measure the balance etc.

I think I paid something like a tenner on top of the refurb to get out the flat spot. Was probably 10 to 15 minutes extra work for them.

Just got back 2 set of alloys from SWWR. As Jason says, they do know their stuff.
The split rims done by a competitor in North Cornwall after a year were a mess. Leaked air from one wheel, all corroded, Even put paint on the insider of the wheel which goes over the hub so every time you took the wheel off you needed a rubber mallet to get it off.

Obviously to tell if a top notch job has been done we'd need to revisit this in say 12-18 months time, but the initial impressions are really excellent.

They are not the cheapest but from what I've seen of my 2 sets of wheels it is worth paying that little 10% or maybe 20% extra to get an excellent professional job done. So although early days another definite thumbs up for Bob and his guys at SWWR. And I'm a right picky bd when it comes to stuff like this.

Or do what I did and misjudge a roundabout and kerb a freshly refurbed wheel right around the rim....

Turning back up at Bob's place so early was a little embarrassing to ask to do that wheel again. Thankfully have not kerbed it or any others since [touch wood]
