Folks,

Anyone know current discount codes/best deals? Ma is coming over to visit in a few weeks and I'm trying to sort it all out. None of these shonky field operations... It needs to be very well signed and easy for her to manage it!

I always use the Silver Parking. Not the cheapest, but works well.

I always use Silver Parking too. It's only a short bus ride to the terminal and usually fairly straight forward.
Bear in mind they will have moved your car from where you left it on you return!

I do begrudge paying through the nose for parking at Bristol and I am tempted to try one of the local "pub" based parking solutions but SWMBO usually makes me book the Silver service.

Incidentally, why is Bristol Airport such a f***ing rip off?
From the moment you set foot inside the terminal building they are trying to prise money from your wallet!
They try and charge you for everything and I'm guessing it won't be long before there is a charge to use the toilets too.

Am I the only one to think this?furious

Great, thanks. For reasons above pub parking not an option so it'll have to be the Silver service I reckon. £60 for 2 weeks but hopefully can find a discount code.

Yeah, fully agree. I think it's a business model of most regional airports now but the charges for trolleys, drop off and everything else do grate a little bit. It really does feel like a cash cow from the minute you step in. On the upside, it's an easy airport to fly from and you can get airside VERY quickly if you need to.

Might have changed but the codes used to be monthyear so June2016 worth a try at least.

Good shout. A bit of Google-Fu turns up the code Jun16 for 10%off. Better than a kick in the spuds!

I tried Oakwood parking for a trip to Portugal a few weeks ago. I was actually fairly surprised by their service. I guess you could call it a field operation - you park right here and they shuttle you to the airport terminal. When you get back, you just call them when you're through security and they come and pick you up.

It's easy to spot the sign, and it was £25 for a long weekend.

When I recently took a day business trip from Bristol to Glasgow I found that it was actually cheaper for me to get the train to Temple Meads and then the airport bus - a total of £17 plus a few pence as opposed to c. £25 for airport parking, plus of course the fuel to get there.

There is the A2 link the which runs through a village not far away (and if the bus times don't suit it's £15 quid for a taxi)

Recommend Goblin Coombe parking. Very friendly guys, great set up, good value and only a short ride from the terminal.

My pet hate is this business with only their approved Taxis being able to be used
I think it is wrong that a hackney carriage can not pick up and drop off at the airport. Can you imagine if the train station became tied to single operator? It simply would not happen.

I came back on a quiet night and had to wait 50 minutes for a taxi as their operator had insufficient taxis to cover arrivals, and as the only cabs allowed on site are theirs there is no alternative.

Yes, the taxi thing is a ridiculous cartel. Completely indefensible but them's the breaks.

Now booked Silver Zone with 10pc off. Probably not the cheapest but at least I know my mum can definitely find it!

It was (and still is?) happening with Euro Taxis at Bristol Parkway.

We found ourselves stranded at the airport in similar cirucumstances (no taxis avaliable after ringng numerous companies) and ended up grabbing one of the airport cartel cabs. To make it worth their while they dont do single drops and try to double/triple up trips to near by locations around the city. Whilst I understand they are trying to be effcient it puts you in an awkward position of negotiating with some random as to who is paying what for their part of the journey...fortunatly for us we were a full load.
