Looking for a good engine builder A-series

My 1380cc engine had a gearbox problem which has made a mess of the oil pump and the bearings.

Can anyone recommend someone who can rebuild the short engine, ideally in North Wilts.

My first question perhaps might be how did they get past the filter....but hey they did and thats that....obviously the engine has been stripped down at least partially to know this.

I have many mini parts on the shelf that will one day be going on ebay unless if someone takes a big bundle off me in the mean time, inc a 1380.

I could perhaps help on a rebuild too....based east of Bristol close to M4.

Hi Chuggaboom,

Quite easy, the oil pump in the A-series engine is before the filter so first port of call for any debris in the oil that is sucked up. Has made a right mess of the pump which is only fit for the bin.
