Hi all,

Anyone from here signed up to go the the 'Big Winter Meet' at Castle Combe February the 4th? It's a static meet but lots of cars in attendance and it's just £5 entry (per car not person).

You can find further details and ticket information on the Castle Combe website.

No yet though I have heard a few people complain about not being able to pay on entry on the day. I'm not sure why it is tickets in advance only - anyone??

I believe it is due to the limited space. The meet is for 500 cars so would be a bit of a poor show if someone travelled a reasonable distance to then be turned away at the gate.

I have my ticket through. The parking is strictly zone allocated hence paying in advance so people go to the correct gate then are marshalled to the correct area. Means easier entry and reduced queues.

As it's only a fiver I don't see much risk in paying up front!

Surprised to hear people are moaning about it. Pistonheads do exactly the same with there Sunday service apart from the charge. I will be there in the Silvia Rally car.

Yes there were a few who had a little moan but the event has completely sold out, all 500 spaces! Should hopefully be a good day smile

Can I be clear on this

I have purchased what I thought 'originally' was tickets per head i.e. I have bought TWO tickets at a total price of £10. i.e. ticket for myself and one for my wife. But now that the ticket has arrived - it looks like it a 'Vehicle Pass' which means the ticket is per car and NOT per person - is this correct? -- If so, I may have one ticket spare!!

Can someone be kind enough to clarify on this!
Thanks

Just seen an earlier posting....... Looking like per ticket is for the car and not per person!

Even better isn't it? Load up the car with mates / family* and it's about a quid each to see 500 cars of varying interest smile

  • Number of seats per vehicle may vary. Roof may not be included.

I was too slow, could do with a ticket if a spare comes up. Will be bringing the Vanquish.

It is one ticket per car yes and lots of people who missed out are after a ticket so you wont have any difficulty passing it on!

Weather wasn't looking too promising at the start of the week but looks likes it going to be dry which is good, especially good for me as I have no roof hehe
