I know that this is the time of year when most people will be taking winters off their cars but I need some fitted as I'm off to the Alps shortly.

I have 4 loose wheels that I need the winter tyres taken off and then put those winter tyres onto the wheels that are on my car (taking the current tyres off those of course!!!). I don't need the current tyres fitted to the loose wheels, they can remain separate. The loose wheels are VW fit rather than Mercedes fit.

My car is a Mercedes with TPMS built into the valves in the wheels so I'm looking for a recommendation of someone who is 'caring' rather than a regular part-worn tyre seller as I don't want th valves knocked when the tyres are taken off and fitted.

Recommnedations in Bristol area or north of, most welcome. Also, any idea on price to fit would be great. Thanks.

PS - I'll need to go back there 2 weeks after to have the original tyres fitted and the winters taken off again!!!!

PPS - for clarity, all of these tyres are my own and I don't need to buy any tyres and I know a lot of fitters will only handle tyres tat you buy from them. Thanks.

Briant Tyres are good: Westerleigh, Wotton and Yate (Google says Almondsbury as well, but that one shut >18 months ago). They also have a mobile fitting service: a van with the clobber in the back.

Can also recommend Tyres Direct UK. They are on the Rolls Royce side of the railway arch on Gypsy Patch Lane. I use them for lunch-time visits 'cos I work in Filton and can't get to Briants in the time available.

Haven't tried Brunel Tyres on the A38 in Patchway but folks say they're okay. I tend to steer clear of the major chains, i.e. ATS, Kwik-fit, Halfords, etc.
