Cornwall Cars & Coffee - St Mawes
Discussion
Not sure if the OP is still about?
Anyway it is a nice spot by that coffee van in St Mawes, and while the car park next to it is limited in size there is a second field car park just underneath if I recall.
Another possible place is Sams On the Roseland, they do a decent burger. Could nominate some more places
(I always thought Hells Mouth Cafe would make a nice destination cafe https://www.movehut.co.uk/property/582715-hells-mo...
but the abundance of dear holidaymakers will make it difficult to find enough space in a suitably chilled out spot.

I can't attend, but my ex-GF's family live in St Mawes and I miss visiting the place and her parents, who were really nice. Her, less best said!
I was there when Dave Richards moved in, was quite cool to see his helicopter flying in over the Roseland and landing in a farmer's field.
If there are any meets I'd love to see some pics, it's a beautiful part of the world, must pay it a visit again.

I have considered where one of these could work in Cornwall. There isn't much here between gathering of a single club/few friends and yoofs in retail estate carpark (I've fallen into both categories). Miss the old SWPH drives.
I can do that Sunday, and will see if I can gather extra interest if it's set.

I know what you mean, a nice bit of variety/automotive diversity without the McDonalds crew behaving like tits. I can do that Sunday, and will see if I can gather extra interest if it's set.
I have just read about some place called Re:Fuel but that is near Exeter which is a bit of a trek for a Sunday morning. Maybe the market is limited down here, but as they say, build and they will come.
The last tasteful gathering I saw down here appeared to be the TR3-6 register in a pub car park. And likely they were openly hostile to any MG owners gatecrashing and would ostracize any lone TR7 in attendance.
I have scoured facebook and there don't appear to be many local & non-single make car groups.
Put a few single-make groups together and Robert’s your mother’s brother.
If the weather’s dry, the lower car park at St Mawes Castle is great: scenic, plenty of space and has a coffee van (in the upper car park).
If it’s not so dry, Sam’s on the Roseland has a big gravel car park and it’s an easy drive from anywhere mid-Cornwall.

Doesn’t have to be on the Roseland of course!

I actually got up early on a Sunday for a change and it was worth it, pretty much a clear run the whole way down the Roseland, which is very rare at this time of year. A cracking B road and good coffee there at the end, a nice spot with epic views. It doesn't stay quiet for long (shots taken pre-9am)
Anyway, sharing some pics for anyone curious.

Good work, looks nice. maybe its just a bit "out of the way" for some?
I was racing a Forza 24hrs of Nurburgring and my controller partly failed part way through a night stint. had some emergency shopping to do before the 11am stint started so I never made it out for a proper morning drive

Great pics, I love that walk up around the Castle and along the Carrick Roads to St Just in Roseland. Anyway, sharing some pics for anyone curious.

Yes, only just discovered that walk the other week actually. It looks like a private road to start with, but keep going into the fields and its wonderful. Even some empty hidden beaches (in August!) along there on the way to St Just.
I wasn’t getting much response so didn’t check back in! Glad you got out to St Mawes and that you had a good run. Roads are fantastic when they’re quiet.
I had the F430, 599 abs Corniche all out at various points over the weekend and saw a lot of nice kit/keen drivers in other things. Just needs some proper thought and a little PR and it would work.
On the other hand, a good central meet around Truro would work very well if anyone can think of anywhere that would work well? We could use Tresillian Business Park if cars rather than scenery are the focus!
