Over on the SELOC (Lotus) board it seems there is a bit of a run on Sunday 7th May. Have a look here - http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.ph

OK so it was me that called it. In brief the plans are:

08:30 - 8:45 - meet at the John Lewis underground carpark, The Mall, Cribbs causeway, Bristol (great acoustics for the sports'zorsts)
09:00 - Set off for Abergavenny
10:00 - Cuppa in Abergavenny - meet at the bus stop car park (on the A40 in the town centre) follow signs for Tourist Info.
10:30 - Leave Abergavenny and head for the hills!
13:00(ish) - Lunch just outside Brecon in the White Swann www.the-white-swan.com/
14:30 - Leave Brecon - and continue on our way.
16:00 - 17:00 (ish!!) - Pub meet in Portishead at The Royal - details will be on the map packs at the start.

We have about 25 Lotus as provisional so far but the more the merrier so come along for some fun.

Let me know if you are as I have to give a rough idea of numbers to the pub before the weekend.

In a bit more detail the route is depart Abergavenny at 10:30 to Brecon on A40. At Brecon - B4520 to Builth, branching off onto B4519 after Upper Chapel. At Garth, left onto A483 to Llandovery.
Pick up A4069 follow over the Black Mountain then left onto A4068 at Brynaman. Then pick up A4067 and follow back over the hills to Defynnog and Sennybridge, before turning right and back into Brecon for lunch.

After lunch the main route will be to pick up A470 south, then A4059 to Hirwaun. A4061 to Treorchy, turn right and stay on A4061 to Ogmore Vale. Turn left onto A4093 , then right onto A4119 and out onto Jn 34 of M4.

There will be a shorter pm route if there is to be a 'lightweight' group to head of back to Bristol/home. Otherwise the main group will be heading back to The Royal at Portishead for about 5pm.

Go on - you know you want too!

S.

Damn that sounds like a great route (my g/f and I have been looking around that area of Wales lately) and bloody convenient start and end points too!

Can't make it though.

I am always up for a Sunday run, except this sunday this Miss's decided to put her foot down.
Best grease the wheels, off to the RING end of the month.
Next time!
