Tescos at Brislington have done it in the past. Not sure if they still do, though.

There is a Tesco with petrol station in Thornbury, though. Don't suppose it does '99?

Tesco's 99 is much cheaper - and supposedly isn't as good as optimax - no cleaning agents and what not, but it seems to make cars go much better - I think nearly everyone has seen a marked improvement using it.

Obviously Optimax is more expensive, I think higher RON (?) and has the cleaning stuff in it - but 10 pence more expensive a litre at times....

Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure that optimax is 98RON. I had a look on the greenenergy website but I can't see one Tesco garage in this area that does it!?!

Perhaps a few of us should e-mail them asking them to supply a few of the Tesco garges in the south west.

Cheers

As mentioned previously, Tesco Brislington used to have the 99 RON stuff. They stopped selling it presumably as it wasn't selling in enough volume?

Also of note, the Sainburys in Winterstoke Road has reduced it's four pumps selling 97 RON to two pumps.

Tesco Brislington "said" they were selling 99, but I spoke to the filling station manager. She said it was a cock up and it was never 99 but labelled as such. I didnt bother persuing it though, as I had no reciepts etc.

Tescos in Lewisham had '99 at the pumps this w/e, which suprised me given the usual standard of cars in there. Probably worse than '95 by the time anyone puts some in their tank!

I recently had a bit of a clutch problem (e.g Master cylinder) so had to limp home all the way in second without being able to stop for petrol. By the time i gt back there wasn't much left. The nearest place for fuel is Tesco so I whacked a tenners worth of Tesco Super in the car to take it to the garage (again all the way in second). When I got the car back it seemed somehow down on power - not quite as responsive as usual. Slightly bemused I checked the throttle pedal to check it was going all the way down and even had the bonnet up while the 'little lady' opened the throttle to make sure it wasn't getting stuck 3/4 of the way open or something. All seemed fine so I thought it was probably just me - I'd imagined how fast, loud and responsive the car was. Anyway, I stopped at the next Shell station and fed it some Optimax (which at 103 pence per litre its lapping up!) and it now goes like its strapped to an exocet!!!! The moral of the story is that Teso Super is not anywhere near as good as Optimax. The car even sounds different on Shell. Even at more than a quid a litre I'm a total convert.

PS - I understand that there's now some super dooper 103 octane BP fuel available from about 6 petrol stations worldwide and that its about £2.50 per litre. Is this hearsay or am I correctly informed?

Tesco's super is not 99 ron, hence the difference. The 99 Ron is called "99ron" on the pump
