How do you find the Golf R? Some great contrat hire rates around - mate has ordered his n hers!!
The contract lease thread is worth a read (it's longer than War & Peace though). I didn't go the lease route as I was tied into VW finance with my last one, so I'm not on those cheap rates, which seem too cheap - doesn't help the value of mine in a few years time . Anyways, one month in - super so far. Fuel consumption has settled down and is about what I'd expect (22mpg in hoon mode, 25mpg in commuting mode, 35mpg on a sensible motorway jaunt).
It's rapid enough when required, and covers ground with so little fuss that I'm sure many would say it's boring

Thank you for that - I have contract hired for a few years now and it has worked for me although I am currently running up an epic penalty on an F31 330D.... Fuel consumption seems very fair for the power and 4wd... Clinical performance suits me these days when most mileage is work and school run....Anyways, one month in - super so far. Just picked mine up today. Great first impressions. So easy to use I can see my other cars staying tucked up nice and warm until Spring!Anyways, one month in - super so far. Spotted a Elise S2 this morning with a le mans style stripe, Southbound M5
Didn't see a smiley on him, but he did spend a lot of time sat right behind me so might have recognised the smiley on mine (driving the silver Mundaneo)
If you are on here, I'm sorry you had to endure the same dick in a discovery that seemed intent on running everyone off the road!
