When I had a noisy car, the canopy under the suspension bridge / bottom of bridge valley road was always nice to drive through.

Cattlemarket road, under templemeads heading to the feeder.

Avon St by the vauxhall garage (not very good as theres road works there at the moment)

Gas lane (near avon st)

Portway (not very good as its to high!)

I think thats about it really, the underpass at Old Market sounds good if you blast through at night, but you need to be accelerating to 90 plus to really get the full benefit biggrin

Agreed! There is also a good one around the back of the Holiday Inn near the M32 junction of the ring road, and some good ones around the back of the ring road around Hambrook.

V8S - I'll dig out the route I did for TVRCC a few years back and e-mail it to you, it was based on tunnels and bridges and although it was a fair amount of town driving, you can just pick out the bits you fancy!

It's just down from the Harvester.

That'd be great, Sarah. Thanks.

Sandy has already taken me around quite a few, but I'm sure even a seasoned Bristolian such as her might have missed a few.

We found one up under the M5 near Almondsbury (?) which was rather good. Quiet road too.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of doing a PH Bristol tunnel run.

Ah, yes on the way to Tockington, now a poxy 40 limit iirc. Used to be NSL all round that way. The 540 loves that one, and the Cribbs one biggrin

Def up for a tunnel run (when I get the old thing back) smile

Hallen Road. Bit high sadly! There's a brilliant railway tunnel under the main line, just off Mina Rd in St. Werburgh's. Not much scope to go fast but there's a local lentilist colony to annoy hehe

v8s, sorry to hijack your thread....
But I've tried to take the suggestions above and make up a little route:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&a...

i.e. meeting at filton and finishing up at a suitable pub in Tockington.....

I might scope the route out one eveing this week.
How about we all meet up for an evening run in the next few weeks?
(assuming your not anti-bikes, as my Bike sounds much better than the S2000)

Cheers,
AL

Sounds good to me! Well hijacked. smile I'd only got as far as mapping them all and scrolling around the satellite view to see what others might be about, ready for some scouting in the next few weeks.

Can't do it this weekend but I'll consult my calendar (the other half) to see what weekends are a go-er.
