all20vt i bet the SV sounds great in those tunnels i have a silver SV1k with hi mount M4 and it sounds fantastic indoors in fact I nearly dropped it riding around inside the workshop at work! The rear wheel spins very easily on the dusty painted floor.
Back to the tunnel run.
I am very up for noise making. The Vette should be mended by mid week and I'm running Electric cutouts so can at the flick of a switch run 2x 3inch open exhausts!
Yes i have made children cry and one lady actually jump right into a hedge.evil

i'm sure if we annoy the lentils enough they'll tell the cyclist tts and they'll be out again for us to blat past them all. Wonder how many we could get to fall off with all the pops and bangs?

I don't know, but I'm more than happy to bring up the rear in the Battlecruiser. I mean, it is a V8, and has 1.9tons of cycle squashing power silly

[Cartman] It's tough love. [/Cartman]

Does anyone have any suggestions for tunnels? We're going to take a look at some of the 50 or so I have found so far and find a decent route with some of the best ones ready for the run.

Any suggestions are more than welcome

i cant think of many in bristol so narrow streets with tall buidings either side are probably a better bet, we saw some big modified trucks come back from truckfest whilst on victoria street which sounded awesome so thats probably a good bet.

park street is always a good giggle in something noisy, hotwells road from the pump house towards the centre isnt bad either.

the portway from hotwells up towards avonmouth has got to be a giggle as you go through the gorge and through the small tunnel under the suspension bridge.

Although they are residential streets, there is Jacobs Wells Road and the steep hill off to the left about half way up too.

St Michaels Hill?
Gloucester Road around the arches?

Bristol is definitely better for hills than tunnels. I don't think the arches is good for anything except congestion or haircuts. Most of the tunnels mentioned so far are better described as bridges, IMO.

Thanks for that biggrin

ETA, there's another short one on the road out from Wootton Bassett to Malmesbury.

Hey P'H ers.

Was wondering what the 'Tunnel run' scene was like in 2015?

Im looking for like minded lovers of burbles and pops to resonate in some tunnels.

Im from the Bristol area, if there is anything on the horizon, Holler at me.

I only drive a Peugeot, but its throaty and makes me smile going thru a tunnel or low bridge despite its 4 cyclinders lol smile though it requires a bit of right foot to get that tone right :P

But it would sure sound better in company.

Heres to hoping...

best place to go for a tunnel run would possibly be Newport M4. Most local are a but crap.

Says me just uploading a vid of my Switzerland Euro Trip from the End of may this year. how's a 10 1/2 mile tunnel sound. It was a bit big and boring after 10 mins + lol

Wow what a thread revival! smile

We've not had a Bristol TR for a while, i think the last one i ran would have been around 2013. But if there's enough interest i can get on and organise one.
If not, if you want to send me a pm i can give you a list of some of the ones which we visit on the TRs.
