Classics in Queen Square

Avenue drivers club who were the original queen square meet ,had sent a circular out asking that members from all clubs to kindly not arrive before 09.00a.m As they have had complaints from nearby residents ,if you want this to keep going it wouldn't be such a hard thing to abide by !!....plod will intervene without doubt if many more complaints .......

Email from ADC regarding this Sunday:

Dear Members,

Following last month's event coming under council scrutiny they have formally written informing me that the Square is being used for a music festival. Obviously Queen Square will be under more scrutiny than usual and again this might well damage our reputation.

It's prudent to move the event to next weekend and in the interim engage with the Council .

So please note that this weekend event is cancelled, replaced by the 19th.

Ah so this explains some of the confusion. I know that a meet still went ahead though it was said to be quieter. I wonder how many people will come on the 19th.

Nice collection of cars by 8, I left early to go far a drive but assume it was going to be busy

A couple of plonkers seemed to think it was cool to rev the car loudly before switching off, no idea why, guess it helps them get attention & not feel insecure

I decided to cycle there and it was definitely worth it. Such a great variety of cars and motorbikes although I think I'll drive neat time as it was quite an early start.

I gave this one a miss, as it is starting to get too busy for me. It's nice to see so many cars out, but when they block you in without leaving a phone number it gets a bit annoying. Anyone else have this problem, or is it just because I have a boring car they assume I have parked up for the day and gone shopping ?

So far im only hearing about Ferrari, Lambo, AMG's, Astons, Hotrods etc etc - not a stretched tyre amongst them.
I may have the wrong end of the stick as im not that local. Why do people think its a chav-fest ?
