'tis a shame the meets off as the sun is shinning down here in Poole, me & a couple of other attendees will be going for "drive" around the New Forest this evening & then a pint somewhere.....

We're meeting at the Shell service station (east bound) @ Picket Post at 6.15-6.30pm if anyone else fancies a blast.....

Mad amount of rain in Lymington at the moment. Monsoon! I'm glad it's been moved. After a hectic weekend, I plan to watch the F1 this evening!

Well there's a weather warning in force for the early hours and through the morning commute for very heavy rain and wind so if like me you are out and about early, take care!

Stef

P.S Hopefully see you all at the revised meet next week.

I put this meet-up in my diary months ago - arranged appointments to finish early and everything.
What did I get out of it?
A lonely swift half of Best Bitter with a load of chavs and geriatrics in a grotty pub on a damp evening
Come to think of it would it have been any different if the PH's had turned up anyway?

I have to say, however, that the drive up from Chichester to West Meon is on a lovely, lovely drivers road and I got in some good overtakes early on, then had the ignominy of those crawlers overtaking me again ten minutes later 'cause I had to stop to wind the roof back up when the rain got too heavy.

The drive back home at seven o'clock was fun too as the commuters had all gone and nobody else was going out in the deluge. The road home was was backlit by a strong setting sun with darkly brooding bruised storm clouds to the east, glistening wet roads and bright bursting green buds contrasted with the brilliant yellow of the rape fields.

In fact I had an enjoyable drive, an enjoyable (if lonely) beer and there was Spag Bol on the hob when I got home.

Doubt that I can make it next week as the schedule has already got me nailed down at work in Bognor 'til seven on that evening.
