Replaced our Golf GTI DSG daily driver, with this, BMW M135i with the sports auto 8 speed gearbox.
All I can say is wow! This car is amazing, I reckon it's a fair bit quicker than my Cayman S, it's seriously quick. It's certainly a lot easier to drive quickly. That gearbox is absolutely fantastic as well. I can't believe how good this car is, and they're relative bargains for the performance they offer.
Ours is a nice spec, 3 door, sports auto transmission with paddles, adaptive M suspension (which is a really nice option on these crappy roads!), LED lighting pack, heated leather seats, sunroof etc...
No remaps on the agenda just yet, although 400hp is tempting!
I got one of these last summer and to be honest, i much prefer it to the E92 M3 i traded in for it. All I can say is wow! I have owned an E36 M3, E39 M5 + the E92 M3 and i think its better than all of them for what you really want from a car day to day. It feels nippy and light and bang up to date tech wise.
Its pretty much a hot hatch but with a very revvy, lightweight feeling straight 6.
I think you must love yours as much as I do mine. I can't imagine getting rid of it in anything less than 5 years or so.
Ive just bought an M Performance exhaust which I would throughly recommend too. I can only see myself fitting an LSD as the next improvement but to be honest thats probably about it - but like you, a JB4 may be the next step at some point.
Yours is a top colour too!

Huge softspot for the Mk4, one of the many cars I pined after when I first became a petrolhead, but equally you've upgraded to probably my favourite R out of the lot. Much rarer, and without the stupid four tailpipes. Nice choicemgbond said:
Picked it up a couple of weeks ago. Love it. Now I have a nice car during the week as well as a weekend toy.
P.S Noble is almost ready to come out for show with its new make over.
Love the red stitching and belts.
To add to this 4 month old purchase, we now have another kind of new car. More a new lease of life. It's away having interior fitted to match colour. P.S Noble is almost ready to come out for show with its new make over.
Love the red stitching and belts.

those that know me will be aware that Lez absolutely refused to get into my other Turbocharged Spazda, and therefore we had to keep the Eunos as well, good woman, but there is a time when you realise that things become just spare parts...........so She's going..............no, not Lez, the Eunos. It just wasnt getting used so time to bid farewell after 3 and a half years of trackdays and holidays, probably the best car i have ever owned. Turbo Mazda has been sold, again a sad occasion as i found it amazing and a superb track weapon able to compete with the best of them
