Is the hard top just for the winter?

Stew, it came with the hardtop already fitted and I haven't removed it yet, but seems a good idea to keep it on over winter. However, it is coming off tomorrow as we have a wedding in Edinburgh (nice long trip for the car!) and I need the extra boot space for all the gear, I just hope the hood is 'like new' as claimed by Ridgeway (Woods) as i have not seen it!

Always loved E39 M5's, and such a rare sight nowadays. Great choice!

Just taken my new toy out for its first trip.
Down to Lulworth to blow out the cobwebs.
Took it easy as roads very damp and the sun low in the sky on the way.
Can't wait for Spring.

Fantastic! Love the retro look, those wheels are perfect. They're like the old Revolutions I had on my first Mini.

Thanks. Yes it's an 8 speed sports auto so has the paddle shift

Very smooth indeed. In comfort mode you can barely feel it change. In Sport it holds each gear for longer and up to the red line if you are really pressing on

Yep, my dad has the same sport 8 speed gearbox in his 3 series. I was lucky enough to drive it round the Highlands and it really is amazing.
