He's being a bit sarcastic. They never made a 5 door M3, so guessing he saw a boggo SE spec E46 saloon with an M3 badge on the back.
Or its a cool conversion done to upset the masses.

Bit of a spotters fest today on the M27/M3. As well as the 430 & Quatraporte (which passed me northbound on the M3) there was a Diablo just in front of it, various Porsches, another Maserati southbound on the 3 this morning (a 3200GT with the boomerangs) & a gorgeous Turquoise 30s hot rod pick up going through Ferndown.

There is one about somewhere. I'm sure it was based in Southampton some years ago, but I may have made that bit up. IIRC, the owner had an M3 and a 3-series estate, the M3 got rear ended and written off, so he transplanted everything salvagable (including the engine) into the estate!

I am well aware of this.... A friend of mine purchased an E46 318i recently in blue with an M3 badge on the back. Which he has no intentions on removing, I believe it also has M3 replica alloys aswell! smile

Followed this gorgeous automobile this afternoon from Derby's Corner towards Poole town centre. It just wafted effortlessly along the road.

Has anybody else seen the chopped mini around Poole? green with what looks like a 10" roof chop, boot chop, MX5 rear lights. It's tiny but looks like a right larf. I followed it into Chalwyn ind estate yesterday evening.

It was a Chinese Eye Cloud III drophead. In that colour it looked amazing. Top down in the sunshine would be so cool.
