Does anyone have a recommendation for someone to paint my wheels. Keeping the silver clean is a complete pita.

So thinking of getting them gloss black, but want it done properly.

Had three cars refurbished and powdercoated black (XKR, DB9 and Octavia VRs) at the 'Wheel specialists' (Vernon and Sarah) in Fareham.

The Wheel Specialist in Fareham is getting rather pricey - they want £346 to do a set of 1 piece 16s in bog standard silver. That's paint, not the precious metal.

Thats a shame. As a UK franchise I would have thought that their prices would have been fixed.

I posted this just over a year ago relating to powder coated wheels, see this: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=130...

These wheels were done by The Wheel Specialist at the previously mentioned branch. Make your own mind up depending what suits you scratchchin

Their warranty (and this is the sole reason) against corrosion states that the wheel is completely covered. This includes hub face and bolt seats.

The Wheel Specialist in Bournemouth (well, Ferndown) were considerably cheaper when they did my set of badly damaged 16” wheels recently.

There's one in Droxford that will do it for £65+VAT per wheel according to my recent quote request, wheels brought in on the car.

http://www.auto-wheels.co.uk/wheels/our-services/

That's actually the same as my quote with TWS in Fareham, except TWS wanted about 20% on top of that to deal with wheels brought in on the car.

I haven't used either yet.

Can't recommend Matthew at Solent Wheels enough, I acquired some wheels that looked beyond repair, and they looked brand new when he had finished. He talked me through the process, and gave me more colour choices than any man could imagine were possible for 'dark gray'!

Thanks all, there seems to be a huge difference between the Fareham branch and the Bournemouth branch; about £50, interesting. Also, the Bournemouth branch offered a courtesy car.

Have you tried Chris at Exel wheels ?
I know for Porsche cars they can fit a spare set of wheels to your car while yours are being refurbished.

Thumbs up from me too!

They also check wheel for damage/buckling/out of roundness as well.
