Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a plastic bumper repair specialist in the local area?

I've pushed the majority of it out, but there's some evidence of a collision in the sense that there's some rippling around the dent and a little crack under the headlight. If possible I'd really like to get it A1.

Thanks,

Ed

Have your tried heating it up? It might pop back into shape.

ABS plastic is great - get it nice and hot for a few minutes, it'll go back to it's original shape. Then it's just a case of small paint corrections here and there.

I took my MX-5 up there last week after someone hit the front bumper whilst it was in a car park - excellent work!

Thanks KTF for the recommend and I'm glad you're pleased with the repair to your MX-5 Emma!

The bumper on the Porsche looks like it had a fairly large dent which has been pushed from behind, making it a bit better? With a bit more heat, pushing in the right places and most importantly, lowering the raised crowns around the dent to allow it to go back to shape, it should be possible to get it nearly there without any filling. I would then expect it would need a bit of filler work and a corner respray to make it perfect.

If you would like an estimate, please get in touch. My Facebook page has detailed posts of my work. Auto Brite Smart Repairs/Facebook.

Magic.

I'm based in Southampton, thanks gents. I'll have a word with StJohn very soon. Payday today after all. smile

Yeah, I did put some heat on it; it popped out and without glasses I don't notice it. I know it's there though, and it does irritate me - would like to get it sorted.
