Andover - Thinking of moving there.
Discussion
For everyone that has said 'Andover is crap, buy in a village/winchester/whitchurch/etc', they obviously failed to notice that the OP's budget is a 2 bed house in Andover.
Andover is pretty much a mini-Basingstoke. It is a lovely little market town, that has been heavily tarnished by huge influxes of London-overspill and council estates in the 60s/70s. So it has nice parts, and horrible parts, and the town centre does have a lot of undesirables loitering about. As long as you avoid the chavs and chav-areas, it is acceptable.
The new estates are 40%, yes 40%, social housing. I wouldn't like to pay my hard earned cash on a private house only to find some crack dealer is living opposite in a council house! For example - Augusta Park and Picket Twenty are best avoided IMO.
However I don't see how the OP is going to find anything in budget that can take 4 cars. 2 bed houses are not usually over-endowed on the garage front.
P.S. I live in Charlton, a 'suburb' of Andover.
