Why build more shops when the existing ones are failing?
Good point. Bournmouth is just not attractive to go into & we only live at the either end of the A338
Yup! Given the choice on a weekend I'd always choose Ringwood over B'mth. And if i can't get it in Ringwood I'd go to Salisbury!.
Not tried Salisbury. Ringwood or Southampton (West Quays) for me.

I'd have thought Ringwood may be good for your shop Eddie or is there too much competition in the jewellery market there already?
I think we'd be well placed as the only bespoke maker and high end repairer if we were to get a slot in Ringwood. I've always thought that the Furlong square would be ideal for us but it's incredibly expensive. Even the high street is pricey. Would be a good move if we could make it. Got some other ideas in discussion at the mo.

Wimborne? Would seem a more natural environment to me.

It was eye opening working in the town centre from May last year to feb this year. Foreigners kicking off with each other on many occasions, plenty of people staggering around drinking booze early in the mornings most days, amongst other sights
You sure you were 'working' at the time Nick??

Bournemouth doesn't need any more shops! (could do with better clubs though...!)

Just thought i'd drop in a 'heads up' as this all kicks off next week.

Good luck to those that will be suffering it from the start!

Well, i left Ringwood just after 8.30 as i had to be in Christchurch for 9.30.

Took one look ad decided to go via Avon Causeway, and my route was fairly clear!

I did have a look at the road when i went over the fly over and the main 338 seemed to be clear ish at that point.

Once i was done around 11, i thought id chance it and come back via the 338 and that seemed to run smoothly in both directions.

Took me 35 minutes to get from Springbourne roundabout to the start of the traffic cones for the roadworks. Left Poole around 0745.

Did you notice the conveniently placed 1st and last cameras hidden behind the bridge? No point being yellow if you hide them.

Left my house in Throop to head to the Kitchen Club meet on Castle Lane, around 2.3 miles in total journey distance and a grand total of 4 left hand corners.

Took me 47 minutes.

It's phenomenal carnage around rush hour times.

Don't forget that Ringwood Road, Longham is also closed on the 13-14th of this month as well!

I did hear on the radio this morning (I wasn't paying enough attention for exact details), that there is talk about the 'organisers' getting together to rethink their strategy with regards to the spur road. Hmmmmm ok then.

I also like the one about the spur road having £1M per year spent on it being repaired. Really??? Where?

Now, i know the road is failing etc, but i don't remember it ever even being resurfaced in its lifetime. Perhaps if they had spent some money on it, it may not have got to the state it is in now.

There's never anyone there, except 1 R&W crew starting up yesterday 7am and another in action on top of southbound side at 715am today. I've travelled 338 south twice tis week at 730 and no-one in sight - FNCKING piss take! Last night was standstill....at 730pm!
Why aren't the recently scrub-clearance mobile lane-closure vans used?
Why aren't there works going on on multiple areas simultaneously?
Why aren't the works areas accessed more from Matchams and Wattons Lanes?

^^^ all this.

Drove home at 6pm yesterday and the entire southbound from Ashley to Blackwater was standstill.

And the idiots doing 30mph the full length of it when clear is a joke. Probably because nobody has applied a speed limit to go with the cameras. They cause as much of a queue behind them as the works do.

Further update on this.

There is the Electronic sign giving the above details.

There is another sign near the bike shop stating the road will be closed from the 13th for 3 days. Not sure which road - possibly the one to Haskins/Hobby Craft or the Ringwood road itself.

My daughter was due to be in work at 10am in Westbourne and she though that an hour and a half should be enough time to get there, so she left Ringwood at 8.30am.

She was in work by 9am.

hehe

None of it makes sense.
