so, changed the front pads today and set off down the road to "make sure" then came home to do the rears..............you know whats coming......like a tt i seemed to have left the key on one of the front wheels.....anyone local with the ability to remove locking nuts?????
discount the "weld a nut on" solution as i dont have welding gear,

any help greatly appreciated,

I've heard you can hammer a slightly smaller socket on to the offending locknut... I'm sure someone will be along to better advise

Use an imperial socket, just smaller than the nut. Wrap it in electrical tape so you have to hammer it into the recess in the wheel. The tape stops the socket bouncing out.
Use a big hammer (not a lump hammer, they have a rounded face and slip off the socket, damaging the wheel frown )
3 or 4 good hard hits with a big hammer and you can undo the locker.

Don't you get a fine and lose places on the grid for an 'Unsafe release'?

I also did this once, and found the key within a short walk from home smile
