On our Christmas outing on the 3rd December and heading down to Bournemouth for the day/evening. There will be 8 guys aged around 35 years old, and looking for some good recommendations for bars worth visiting. We are staying in a hotel on the West Cliff road just outside of town.

Can anyone help with the following:

Somewhere for food at lunchtime (burger/bbq etc)
Good place to watch Eng vs Aus in the Rugby at 2.30pm
Pub/Bar for early evening drinks/cocktails
Bar/Club to finish the night.

Havent been to Bournemouth on a night out for years so no idea where to go. Trying to avoid the Walkabout for the Rugby.

Cheers

Best burger place not only in Bournemouth but in the south of the UK by a mile - 7Bone. Gervis place, right in the centre. They also serve cocktails. If it's full or you don't fancy it then 60 million postcards also do a very good burger and a wide range of draught beers. Both have websites with menus on.

Pub called Inferno on Holdenhurst road will probably show the rugby, pool table in there too. Far nicer than Walkabout. 15/20 mins walk from the aforementioned burger places. Someone else might be able to recommend a better place more central?

I would recommend 60 million again for early eve drinks. All depends what your preferences are, but 60 is a no thrills place with a good atmosphere and a range of people, often have live music too.

Bournemouth is full of clubs and students and not so many bars. I'd avoid all of the student clubs and go to Smokin Aces which is a cool whisky lounge/bar - quite pricey but probably the best cocktails in town.

All of the above are within walking distance from West Cliff too.
