So I'm currently driving a 2010 Scirocco GT with the standard 19" alloys. I've had a bit of an incident where I had to swerve to avoid a car and ended up beached (kind of) on the pavement (central reservation kind of) and I've done some damage to the alloys. Anyway long story short I don't think it matters about damaging the inside of the alloys but one is visibly scuffed and 1 or 2 are showing signs of bubbling/peeling slightly anyway so I'm thinking of getting them powdered black at the same time as I get the wheels refurbished.

Does anyone have any input towards what I'm planning to do and also can anyone recommend a good wheel shop to me that's nearby, I'm in Brighton.

Thanks a lot

Powder coat is much tougher than paint, but doesn't leave a deep finish like paint does, I tend to have wheels PC, dark colours make the wheels appear smaller so be aware if they don't fill the arches properly already then they may end up being swallowed up by the car, and imo look a bit silly.

Ah yeah I had heard PC was a better option and also the car is on 19s so hopefully they'll still look big.

One thing I was concerned about was price and also quality of the job, is it something that people do badly quite regularly, and do you have an idea of what price is reasonable? I was expecting just under £300 all in for 4 PC and 1 refurb (maybe 2)

As an update if anyone spots this thread, my wheel is bumping at precise intervals (as it goes over the damaged part of the alloy) so I'm going to see if it can be repaired and have all 4 possibly painted instead of powder coated and also the garage I was thriving of using is called PK Autos in littlehampton has anyone had any experience with them?
