Driving into work today, first time I've ever seen Hampshire police on a Red Superbike, He was sat on the roundabout at Junc 9 watching motorists coming off the motorway from So'ton way.

I think all the unmarked bib must have been on holiday for a few weeks as no sightings.

Back with a vengeance today. Failed to spot them until pretty close at their usual perch near Eastleigh on the bridge. FY14 HNU. They later passed me at a fair rate - initially had their blues on to get people out of the way and then passed without the lights on. A little further along another unmarked near the turn off towards Newbury - this one was hiding behind a sign

Spotted in Farnborough today unmarked BMW. EX64 GNJ
One way to spot these is all the ones I have seen are debadged and usually grey/black.

Attending to a Peugeot driver who I suspect had probably just run out of skill on a bend and was therefore facing the wrong way along a stretch of dual carriageway....

Another spot tonight HY14HNU
M27 east bound m3 to hamble.
I was level when I remembered reading something about this car!
I eased over and after a while he went quickly past following a 118d who was right up someone's chuff.
Very hard to spot and car was only one up.

Followed an interesting looking Skoda into Southampton this morning, hopefully it catches those trying to evade road tax and insurance judging by the little modification to the central spoiler support.

Most of our unmarked cars have tinted windows.

That's what I thought initially plus I read somewhere a 'person' in Southampton was trying to imitate a police car. For the sake of no agro I din't overtake him in a 30 limit just in case.

If you were trying to imitate a police car, surely you wouldn't imitate an unmarked one lol ? There are loads of cars with camera, dash lights etc. Most are not police. So many construction workers have private amber flashing dash lights in their cars.

How would this work? There is no offence of imitating an unmarked car but there is an offence of imitating a police officer. Unless he was pulling people over stating he was police then no offence of imitating police. Obviously if blue lights were fitted etc then there are different offences but I know one guy who made his vRS look like a cop car with extra aerials and dash/grille lights but they flashed amber. Perfectally legal.
